1 Mile from Sidmouth's Jurassic coastline

Three luxurious and beautifully presented grade II listed self-catering holiday cottages, nestling on the doorstep of the regency seaside town of Sidmouth on the East Devon Jurassic Coast.

Bulverton House, with its three beautifully presented holiday cottages is just a 20 min stroll to Sidmouth’s seafront and shops. The tastefully restored and decorated cottages benefit from their own private garden/courtyard with many mature trees, shrubs and plants. Guests can explore the Jurassic coast or enjoy stunning views on the coastal/rural walks nearby and luxuriate in the array of independent shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants that the characterful town offers. Additionally, the more adventurous guests can indulge in a wide range of activities nearby such as golfing at Sidmouth Golf Club or cycling, kayaking and paddle boarding on Sidmouth beach. Sidmouth is also hosts to renowned festivals throughout the year such as the Sidmouth Jazz Festival (May) and the Sidmouth Folk Week (August).

Our spacious and beautifully furnished 5-star holiday homes are available for weekly holidays or short breaks and are open all year round. The cottages are equipped to a high specification and are an excellent romantic getaway for couples or a relaxing family holiday. Our brightly lit parking area comes with an EV charging point and designated parking spaces. We welcome children and well-behaved dogs.

The Cottages: set in a private garden of their own, all our cottages are beautifully presented and tastefully furnished. Two of our cottages are one double bedroom, and the third cottage has two double bedrooms. All cottages are independently graded as 5-star (VisitEngland).

Meet the owner

Chris Bourton

Our ambition to own a holiday let business was born from 20 years of working overseas in Shanghai, Vietnam, Malaysia and Singapore. During our holidays, we travelled extensively and had the fortunate opportunity to stay in fabulous bespoke holiday complexes around the world, including Devon. As a result, we grew a strong passion to return to the UK to run our own holiday cottage business and share with our guests what we came to love and cherish when living away from home. While living overseas, Chris ran multi-site global manufacturing operations. Ellen who originates from Singapore was a primary school teacher. Our son, Alistair and his dog Popcorn love their new home in Sidmouth. In October 2022 we proudly became owners of Bulverton House Holiday Cottages. It is now our vision to ensure that our guests have a fabulous Devon holiday, with memories to last forever.
