Upcott House, The Gallery and The Gospel Hall are located in the pretty seaside village of Beer, set within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Unspoilt beaches, stunning landscapes and plenty of holiday activities are all on your doorstep – without the crowds and cars.
What a gem of a place Beer is. The picturesque high street, featuring whitewashed cottages, individual shops, cafés, restaurants and art galleries, meanders down to a spectacular pebbled bay. Follow the Southwest Coast path to Branscombe, take a boat trip, buy freshly caught fish at the beach or enjoy a meal at the nearby River Cottage Canteen. In the summer there's a regatta, and swimming in the crystal blue sea, however Beer will charm you in every season.
Upcott House (sleeps 12+2). Upcott is an Arts and Crafts gem – a big rambling coastal villa with its own little turret, high above a quiet coastal road between Beer and Lyme Regis. Beautifully restored stained-glass windows, natural waxed floorboards and lovely period detail rub shoulders with new leather sofas, funky fabrics and contemporary furniture. The bright, spacious living room has a wood-burning stove and there are five stunning bathrooms to choose from. The six bedrooms all have king size Vi-Spring mattresses and stunning sea views.
The Gallery (sleeps 6+1). Once a smugglers’ house, now a contemporary, light-filled holiday home set over three floors in the centre of Beer village. There are three generous bedrooms, a stylish family bathroom and, on the top floor, the 'gallery' is a spacious open-plan living space with exposed stone walls, wooden beams and skylights overlooking the rooftops.
The Gospel Hall (sleeps 6+1). Built in 1701 as the village 'Meeting House', the Gospel Hall is one of Beer’s most historic buildings. After years laying empty, it inspires again as a stunning contemporary three-bedroom holiday home. The location is perfect; minutes from the cafes, galleries and shops of Beer yet positioned down a quiet, private lane. The Hall is furnished to the same high standard as our other properties, and features three spacious bedrooms, two bathrooms and an extraordinary living area in the main chapel that will take your breath away. Under floor heating keeps the building toasty in winter, high ceilings and beautiful stonework keep it cool in the summer, while natural materials and Vi-Spring beds ensure that you will feel refreshed and rested after your stay.
