Towards the rear of the cottages there's a landscaped lake and decked area, and a gentle sloping green space easily big enough to afford privacy and peace to picnickers, couples, families playing games and those starting the short walk to Porthkidney Beach. St Ives - with the old fishing harbour, the Tate and the Barbara Hepworth Museum - is two miles away; its narrow, winding streets filled with cafes, galleries, shops and award winning restaurants. Town meets sea on four separate safe and sheltered sandy beaches, all regularly cleaned, and lifeguarded most of the summer.
Closer to the cottages you will find the challenge of Cornwall's oldest links golf course, as well as the chance to horse ride and surf. Although if you do not judge a holiday by the increase in your heart rate alone, it's hard to imagine anywhere lovelier for a prolonged bout of doing very little...
