“Far from the Madding Crowd” these superb single-storey cottages originating in the 17th century are set around a fragrant herb garden and arranged to give optimum privacy to each. Encircling the cottages and the thatched farmhouse are 4 acres of safe well maintained grounds, surrounded by fields, the abundant wildlife and a variety of birds offer great interest in this relaxing rural environment. The games room on the first floor of the barn offers table tennis, snooker and a library of paperbacks. The adventure playground has slides, swings and sand pit.
The nearby World Heritage Jurassic Coast offers spectacular coastal walks and a good choice of beaches from the safe golden sands of Studland to the 17 miles of Chesil Beach in the west; Impressive natural features like Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door are nearby. Fossil hunting is a popular pastime on many beaches in the area.
Nearby Farm Animal parks will delight younger families as well as Monkey World and the Sealife Centre. The RSPB Reserve at Arne offers woodland walks adjoining the shores of Poole Harbour. National Trust properties such as Corfe Castle, Hardy’s Cottage, Brownsea Island, boat trips and golf, all within easy reach.
The historic market town of Dorchester is just 4 miles away having museums and cinemas and a leisure centre with pool. Visit the exciting new Brewery Square with great shopping and many new restaurants and cinema. There are regular Farmers Markets with many local producers and a large weekly market. There are a variety of country pubs and restaurants and local organic food producers.

A most attractive and airy living/dining room with high vaulted ceiling and double doors opening to the attractive grounds and countryside. There is a separate well equipped kitchen with full cooker and microwave. Daisy has an electric wood burning effect stove for cosy evenings. Garden furniture and a gas barbecue outside to enjoy the sights and sounds of the countryside in this afternoon sun trap.
The cottage is single storey and there are two steps up to a double bedroom with Victorian style bedstead, second bedroom with full sized bunks, much loved by children. There is room for one of our high quality cots in either bedroom, we can provide high chair and baby bath etc. Bathroom with W/C. Laundry with washer and drier in the barn. There are exposed beams throughout enhancing the character of the cottage.
A short stroll through the lovely grounds takes you to the play area with adventure play system or the games barn.
