Nestling on a south-facing hillside, in the rolling South Hams, designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Higher Bowden is within walking distance of the award-winning Blackpool Sands Beach with its excellent child friendly facilities and four miles from the historic Royal Naval Port of Dartmouth with its many fine award winning restaurants.

Our 13 individually styled luxury cottages with recently updated interiors and outstanding facilities offer memorable holidays whether you are a couple or a family enjoying quality time with your children or grand children. At Higher Bowden we specialize in family holidays and our focus on single cottage bookings means our guests can enjoy a significant degree of peace and tranquility with all the conveniences of home. The family can explore the extensive grounds and sports and games facilities whatever the weather or season.

The cottages have been sympathetically converted from 17^th century farm buildings, retaining original beams and features. All our cottages have log burning stoves set into large brick inglenooks, king sized beds, at least 2 bathrooms in each cottage (except Little Bowden) with a bath & power shower and are all equipped to a high standard with handmade fitted pine kitchens – including fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, washer/dryer. The flat panel digital TVs all have Freeview and a selection of Sky channels including Sky Sports 1 and 3. Each cottage has one or two allocated parking spaces located close to the cottage.

We have a large indoor heated swimming pool with changing rooms, which is oxygen treated avoiding the health issues associated with chlorine & bromine.
