Swainsley Farm is very private with parking well away from the nearest road.

Great care has been taken to convert traditional 18th century farm buildings into three fantastic cottages. Beamed ceilings and many original features have been combined with modern essentials such as well equipped kitchens and new, deluxe bathrooms providing contemporary but understated luxury. Free WiFi internet connection, comfy beds with mattress toppers, I-pod docks and Nespresso coffee machines are some of the things you can expect. Why not pamper yourself and book holistic and beauty therapies in your cottage?

Explore lush, tranquil dales and wild, romantic highlands or just stroll along the banks of the Manifold River into Dovedale. There are lots of pretty villages with lovely old churches and ancient inns. Shops and wonderful pubs/places to eat close-by. Fishing, pony trekking, watersports and golf are all available locally. The Manifold Trail, running below Swainsley Farm, has great cycling and easy access for both push-chairs and wheelchairs.

Bakewell, Buxton, Chatsworth and Alton Towers are within 12 miles and there are many attractions, National Trust properties/gardens and the Potteries near-by. The international sporting and concert venues of Manchester, Sheffield, Derby and Stoke-on-Trent are easily assessable for a great day out.

Larger groups wishing to book two or all three cottages please note that the Coach House has a very spacious lounge and the Haybarn can be arranged to dine up to 12 people.

Built of local limestone, and facing directly onto a courtyard with spectacular views, this superb, detached farm holiday cottage is popular with couples and families. Converted from a Coach House and Stables this is our largest farm holiday cottage accommodating from 2 to 7 people in comfort and luxury while retaining many original features.

From the entrance hall, walk into a magnificent lounge with vaulted ceiling, timber trusses and exposed woodwork. French windows have incredible views of the high hills surrounding Swainsley Farm.

A flight of open tread stairs leads to a romantic, galleried, double bedroom overlooking the lounge. On the ground floor we have just completed a major refurbishment of the master bedroom which now has a king-size double bed and a new, deluxe, en-suite shower room/toilet. There is also a new, deluxe family bathroom with bath/over-bath shower, WC and hand-basin. Both bathrooms have heated towel rails and under-floor heating.

A smaller bedroom has two full size single beds in a 'bunks' arrangement (suitable for adults or children). The cottage has a folding single bed and so sleeps 6 to 7 people.

In keeping with a traditional farm holiday cottage, the farm house style kitchen has a vaulted ceiling with lots of exposed woodwork and is equipped with: auto washing machine/dryer, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, cooker, microwave, Nespresso coffee machine and a full range of cooking and dining ware.

This farm holiday cottage is very spacious and, with the exception of the gallery bedroom, all rooms are on the ground floor (making it suitable for visitors with limited mobility).
The cottage has wheelchair access with two groundfloor bedrooms and 2 groundfloor bathrooms.

A discount is available for a couple using one bedroom.

Originally a barn and corn store dating back to the 18th century, the Haybarn has been converted into superb family farm holiday cottage accommodation. Constructed of local limestone, with gritstone dressing to doors and windows, the interior has beamed ceilings and a wealth of original features. All rooms have been carefully furnished and decorated to extremely high standards. The new deluxe kitchen with granite worktops is equipped with integrated fridge, freezer, dishwasher, hob and oven plus an auto washing machine/dryer, microwave, Nespresso coffee machine and full range of cooking and dining ware. Look out of the French windows and marvel at the stunning views!

From the kitchen a door leads to a separate lounge; a lovely, comfortable room (TV, CD, DVD, I-pod docking station) which also has magnificent views. There is a flight of open tread stairs from the kitchen to a landing which overlooks the courtyard. The landing provides access to a new deluxe bathroom with bath/over bath shower, WC and heated towel rail. Also off the landing is a spectacular king-size double bedroom with vaulted ceiling and exposed roof trusses.

A separate, second bedroom has twin beds (which can be made into a king-size double by arrangement). This farm holiday cottage will easily accommodate two couples but the layout (second bedroom leading off the master bedroom) means that it’s ideal for families, especially those with small children. The second bedroom contains a Z-bed for one extra person.

A discount is available for a couple using one bedroom.

Old Byre

Facing south with amazing views of the Manifold Valley, the Old Byre is a farm cottage ideal for a couple wanting comfort, peace and quiet. It’s been converted to the highest standards from a barn dating back to the 18th century and combines understated luxury with beamed ceilings and many original features. The Old Byre is one of the cosiest and most romantic cottages in the Peak District. Immediately outside this delightful farm cottage is a secluded courtyard with unrestricted views of the valley.

Downstairs there is an open-plan sitting room, dining room and new deluxe kitchen with granite worktops, terracotta floors and attractive rugs. The farm cottage is equipped with an integrated fridge, freezer, dishwasher, oven and hob plus auto washing machine/dryer, microwave, Nespresso coffee machine and full range of cooking and dining ware.

A flight of open tread stairs leads to a galleried landing off of which is a lovely double bedroom with "views to die for" (the opinion of one of our visitors). Also leading from the landing is a new deluxe bathroom with bath/overbath shower, WC and heated towel rail.
