Kerridge End Holiday Cottages
Peak District & Derbyshire
Peak District National Park, on the Cheshire/Derbyshire border
The award winning cottages are located in the grounds of Kerridge End House, a Grade II listed building and former gentleman’s residence, in the conservation area of Rainow village.
The parish is blessed with a massive network of well-maintained footpaths, in total 44 miles, varying from quiet rambles to tough hill walking and rugged moors. The famous Gritstone Trail runs through the village. For the cyclists there are the Riding the Ridges and the Grit and Gears routes.
The beautiful Peak Park with its many attractions is on the doorstep. The historic city of Chester is an hour away. There are many pretty villages with fine pubs, shops and restaurants within easy reach. Local attractions include several National Trust properties such as Tatton Park, Little Moreton Hall, Lyme Park, Quarry Bank Mill and Dunham Massey, to name but a few. The market towns of Macclesfield, Buxton, Bakewell, Ashbourne and Leek, which provide shopping and sightseeing opportunities,
are within easy driving distance.
Trains run from Macclesfield, which is less than 2 miles away and is on the main line from London, for the short journey to the bustling city of Manchester with its many galleries, museums and theatres. Manchester International Airport is less than half an hour’s drive away.
