Set in the beautiful Lune Valley, which lies between the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks, are three superbly and thoughtfully renovated cottages, specifically designed to offer superior accommodation and to which guests return time and again – Mill Cottage, Northerdale and Southerdale. These small, yet enchanting, warm and comfortable 17th century cottages were originally textile workers dwellings based on an old cottage industry on Millbeck, which still flows close by down Middleton Fell to the River Lune.

The situation is simply breathtaking, nestling within beautiful hills and surrounded by stunning views and tumbling streams. These idyllic, lovingly cared for cottages, which offer peace and quiet in glorious unspoilt walking country, are set at the end of a private gravelled track which leads directly onto 10,000 acres of open fell – home to peregrine falcons and red deer. A magical place in which to relax and re-charge the batteries, whether you are keen walkers or planning a romantic break away from it all.
Middleton is a small hamlet with two pubs and a church and lies between Sedbergh and the Howgill Fells to the North and the attractive market town of Kirkby Lonsdale, with its two golf courses, shops, pubs and restaurants to the South. Both are within 15 minutes drive. The pretty village of Barbon, with its church, shop, post office and pub is 2.5 miles away and reached by the rarely used Roman road and yet incredibly, given the solitude and tranquillity, the motorway is only 7 miles from these hidden gems.
