Churchdale Farm
Peak District & Derbyshire
Ashford-in-the-Water, Peak District National Park
Churchdale Farm in the heart of the Peak District, is ideally situated for a holiday. The farm, tucked away down our private country lane, was formerly part of the Chatsworth Estate and is only 2 miles from Bakewell.
Wake up in the morning to the sounds of the countryside and then walk for a mile through the fields to Ashford village, one of the prettiest in Derbyshire, to buy your papers and provisions at our excellent village shop and to admire the picturesque “Sheepwash Bridge”. Alternatively, the Monsal Trail is at the end of our drive, it offers gentle level walks to Monsal Head and Bakewell with wild flowers in profusion. The whole area is a treasure trove of history, beauty and gastro experiences. Within 10 minutes drive are Chatsworth and Haddon Hall and picturesque villages. The attractive market town of Bakewell, (famous for its puddings) offers a wide variety of shops, pubs and restaurants.
The three five star cottages have been thoughtfully converted, with great attention to detail, from old cart sheds. They retain the charming old beams and natural stone to provide a very high standard of spacious accommodation. The sitting rooms all have wood burning stoves, colour televisions, videos, music centres and DVD players. The light oak kitchens are all very well equipped with dishwashers, microwaves, washing machines etc. The bathrooms have baths with overhead showers. You will be assured of a very warm welcome with a tea tray and fresh flowers. Many of our clients return year after year.
