Goodies Farmhouse
Lake District & Cumbria
Beautiful retreat overlooking the Howgill Fells
Goodies Farmhouse is gorgeous! Full of warmth and character, this lovely 17th century house nestles in a beautiful wooded valley overlooking the Howgill Fells. Carefully restored to a luxurious standard the house has a magical atmosphere and, set in an acre of garden and private woodland, is an ideal retreat for those seeking peace and tranquillity. The beautiful interior is simply stunning and will please the most discerning guest; quality and attention to detail ensures every modern comfort has been thoughtfully provided yet this bewitching house retains a lovely relaxing atmosphere where time seems to stand still. The views from the farmhouse are fabulous; across the valley, which is wooded, to the high fells of the Howgills. Goodies is very private and is surrounded by open fields, woods and mountains. The garden areas are fenced and safe for young children to play in. There are many quaint little villages nearby with good restaurants and several delightful country pubs, which serve delicious meals. Wonderful walks, far from the crowds, start straight from the door - some gentle, some challenging - and upon which you will rarely meet anyone else. A glorious river flows through this enchanting valley, with rocky pools and shady glens; perfect for lazing away an idyllic afternoon, being gently lulled by the sound of water tumbling into the shallow pools and glimpsing the flash of turquoise on the Kingfisher’s wing.
