Pretty, traditional stone cottage in the peaceful hamlet of Aldfield, close to the World Heritage Site of Fountains Abbey & Studley Royal (National Trust) and just three miles from the Cathedral City of Ripon. Light, sunny and furnished to feel like a much loved home, a perfect retreat for two or four.

Fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher and microwave, utility room (great for drying walking boots!), downstairs loo. Dining room, spacious and comfortable sitting room with a real fire, books, games, TV with Freeview.

Upstairs are two double bedrooms with really comfortable beds; one king-size and another with the option of super-king or twin beds. The bathroom has a bath and over shower plus big soft towels. Outside is a large private garden with lovely southerly views over open countryside – an ideal spot to relax and enjoy a chilled glass of wine.

There’s plenty to do and see; ideally placed for exploring both the Yorkshire Dales and Moors. Ripon, Harrogate and York are 10, 20 and 45 minutes away respectively. North Yorkshire has a wealth of stately homes, gardens, race/golf courses, antique shops and farmer’s markets. Great walking from the door (it’s just a ten-minute walk to Fountains Abbey), or bring your own bike as undercover storage available. Excellent choice of country inns and restaurants nearby.
