Messing About on the River
The county's greatest asset has to be its beautiful countryside, and it has certainly made the most of it. If you’re looking to get to grips with the spectacular scenery from a different perspective then it’s well worth taking a trip on the River Cherwell, either courtesy of a chauffeur-driven punt or hiring a pole and taking a lazy trip across the water. Pack some strawberries and a bottle of champagne and you’ve got all the ingredients for the perfect summer’s day.

The impressive Blenheim Palace is always worth a visit. However, if you’re having trouble persuading younger members of your party that this is a good idea, maybe you should inform them that Blenheim Palace is the setting for the scene in which Harry Potter uses occlumency on Severus Snape and we see him as a youngster in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
