PREMIER COTTAGES

8 October 2014: Luxury cottage collection, Premier Cottages, (www.premiercottages.co.uk) is offering Christmas craft experiences at a range of properties across the UK. Guests can create a Stag’s head from willow, make festive wreaths and even design and print their own Christmas wrapping paper. Crafting breaks are available at:

Redruth, Cornwall

Little White Alice is a stylish eco complex of six, 5 Star Gold award-winning cottages situated in the heart of Cornwall. The property’s ethos is that sustainability does not have to come at the cost of luxury and it recently won Gold in Visit England’s Sustainable Tourism Awards for Excellence.

The property is offering eco craft weekends where guests can create their own Christmas stag’s head woven out of willow coppiced from the on-site willow plantation. The craft session (10 hours) costs £125 and is split over two days. Smaller willow Christmas tree decorations can be made in two-hour sessions. These cost £25 per person including materials. Guests also have the chance to spot the herd of red deer led by a huge red stag that wanders in and out of the 29 acre small holding at this time of year.

A three night weekend for two in The Willow House costs £211 and a weekend for four in The Ash House cost £279 in November and December. For more information or to book, visit www.premiercottages.co.uk or call the owner on 01209 861000.

About Premier Cottages

Premier Cottages was established in 1999 and now represents almost 1,000 cottages in England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, the Isles of Scilly and the Channel Islands. It is not a bookings agency but an organisation of independent self-catering holiday cottage owners who work together to promote their luxury four and five star holiday accommodation.

Properties featured by Premier Cottages range from small romantic boltholes to opulent large party houses and country estates.  Guests book direct with the owner and therefore benefit from a whole reservoir of local knowledge. The company prides itself on selling a holiday rather than just a cottage. Also as most of the owners live on site they are there to help when needed and also to provide information on local events, restaurants and attractions.

Premier Cottages' charity for 2014 is Macmillan Cancer. The collection's members have already raised over £52,000 for this vital organisation  by donating holidays in their cottages that the charity can use as prizes in its fundraising, and other initiatives such as long distance bike rides, dinners and coffee mornings to increase awareness of its work. There are also collection boxes in some  members' properties. In practical terms, £52,000 is enough to fund a Macmillan nurse for a full year, helping people living with cancer and their families receive essential, practical and emotional support
