England’s beautiful coast and countryside will take centre stage in two films due for release in March 2021. And, as many holiday plans start with armchair travel, Premier Cottages highlights homes close to where these movies were shot.

Kate Winslet is Mary Anning, the “un-sung hero of fossil discovery”, in the movie  Ammonite set in the town of Lyme Regis and along the shores of the Jurassic Coast. Due for release in March, it will ensure that this part of Dorset is firmly on the 2021 tourist map.

Travellers keen to visit places featured in the film can stay at Champernhayes with its six luxury dog-friendly holiday properties. Located in the West Dorset countryside, the properties are under fifteen minutes’ drive to Lyme Regis and hosted both film crew and the props and wardrobe team during the making of the film Ammonite. The cottages provide glorious views across the sea to Charmouth. Each has its own private garden complete with patio and barbecue for summer months as well as a shared heated indoor swim spa and hot tub. A three night weekend break for two starts from £288. March will also see the release of Supernova with Oscar winner Colin Firth and American actor Stanley Tucci starring as Sam and Tusker, a devoted couple on a road trip around the Lake District as Tusker battles early onset dementia. The actors spent six weeks filming in the area and the movie shows off many much loved locations including Buttermere, Keswick and Whinlatter.

A great base for those keen to visit the filming locations is Hall Hills, a cluster of five, five star gold, contemporary barn conversions tucked away in peaceful rural Cumbria. They offer uninterrupted views across the open countryside and are just over half an hour’s drive from Keswick. Ideal for those that love the great outdoors as walking and cycling can easily be enjoyed from here. A three night weekend break for two starts from £293.  (www.premiercottages.co.uk,  01697 476779)
