About & Contact

Once a Chapel - now very country house

Take a look at the 'What's Local' tab to see Pew Corner is surrounded by so much for relaxing and being active. Forest Trails, Cycling Trails: family to extreme, Castles, Festivals, NT Garden, Visitor Attractions - just all make for a perfect get-away.

A Chapel, originally built in 1864, now converted makes Pew Corner very 'country house' living, being the largest and most elegant of our Chapel properties. Down this distinctive building’s drive to the allocated private parking.

Through the wrought iron gate to unlock Pew Corner’s front door, step into the hallway and kick off your shoes and prepare for a treat. A flight of honey coloured carpeted stairs, heads up to a landing. On the right, a spacious, airy second bedroom with a double bed and and single bed; perfect for a couple with a child and two grandparents plus a bathroom with bath, power shower over and very modern frameless glass shower screen. Ahead, a kitchen/diner (dining 6) overlooked by an original full height 11.5’ tall Chapel window, dressed with sheer voile, and the gallery to the sitting room above. On one side of the kitchen there’s an impressive array of appliances secreted away: gas, five burner hob, electric double fan oven, dishwasher, washer/dryer and opposite a tall fridge with separate freezer and microwave.

A second flight of stairs heads to a further landing and to the most beautiful, grand, galleried sitting room. The simple beauty of the full height window, with truly noble proportions of Chapel architecture gives elegance and sophistication. With bright gold large settee and armchairs grouped around the TV and DVD player, the room is just a bright, glorious, chic, restful delight. A door on the right to a master bedroom, with double size bed, opens out into another large, handsome and rather grand room. Again dominated by an 11’ tall Chapel window, dressed with voile and silk curtains, the design is just awesome. The en suite has a 1200 long shower tray with a very modern, sheer glass walk around shower screen.

Complimentary WiFi Outside: seating and barbecue area with pretty planters. Cycle rack.

Reviews for Pew Corner at A Forest Chapel For You

Meet the owner

Lynda or Geoff Norman

A warm welcome to the Forest of Dean from Lynda, and my husband Geoff. A native of Derbyshire, I chose a hamlet in the Forest as my home, almost on a whim and I've never regretted it. Over the years I’ve lovingly restored the chapel, creating intimate, yet private top quality holiday homes for our guests. I also offer other character properties located elsewhere within the Forest. All are beautifully appointed and styled to my exacting specifications. We are as hands on and helpful as visitors require; either blending into the (beautiful) scenery or available to problem-solve and guide, depending on your preferences. Together with our office team and gardener/ handyman and chef, we think we’re an unbeatable team and our regular guests agree
