About & Contact

Luxury dog-friendly holiday cottage in Shropshire

Approached by a gravel driveway with ample parking for three cars, The Old Bull Pen is a luxury self-catering cottage with a sun-trap courtyard with a large patio and shrub beds. There's also a second patio and lawn at the rear, which catches the evening sun, and overlooks a stream, pond and dingle. The cottage has a spacious lounge with a 40’’ TV, a woodburning stove and external French doors to the front and rear. Internal French doors lead to the kitchen/diner with a separate utility room leading to the rear patio. Off the hall is a guest cloakroom with toilet and washbasin. The twin and double bedroom en suite feature a walk-in shower, loo and washbasin, whilst the en suite in the master room has a spa bath with shower over, loo and vanity unit with basin. All furniture is oak, and the whole cottage is on the ground floor and so there are no stairs.

The cottage is dog-friendly, and dogs have plenty of space to explore for dog walks. Additionally, you will find loads to do in the local area, from glorious gardens, the charming town of Ludlow, heritage properties and more.

We look forward to welcoming you to Ashford Farm.

Reviews for The Old Bull Pen at Ashford Farm Cottages

Cottage Review logo

Meet the owner

Lynda or Norman Tudge

Lynda & Norman Tudge met at Reading University in 1970 and have lived at Ashford Farm since 1974. We continued the farm as a dairy unit until 1989, then a beef unit until 1998. We sold all our livestock and started holiday letting, having built the three original cottages, Grazers, Calvers & Threshers ourselves with the help of local craftsmen, we then went on to develop Well Meadow in 2005 and the Old Bull Pen in 2008. Simply to reduce our work load (old age!!) we now only market Well Meadow and Old Bull Pen through Premier Cottages. We have retained the farmland which is let for grazing sheep and horses. Some of our land furthest away is let to the village fruit farm for growing strawberries and raspberries and some for potatoes and cereals.
