Set on a family farm, Balbinny is a development of luxury self-catering accommodation, allowing guests to make full use of the countryside. Built with corrugated roofs and recycled stone from the previous steadings, luxury is combined with a sense of history. Benefiting from 180-degree views across the river South Esk towards the Angus Glens, and onto the Cairngorms while renewable energy is utilised to provide sustainable bespoke accommodation and leisure facilities within the idyllic countryside. Balbinny is home to three distinct styles of house. Grass roofed Brochs nestle into the landscape and the larger Steadings make full use of the outdoor space with glass fronted heated balconies and 2 refurbished farm cottages with 3 m bi fold doors and 60m2 decking in each. All furnished in a modern luxurious fashion, while still maintaining an element of Scottish country style. Exclusively for the use of guests is the 11.5m indoor pool and Jacuzzi at the heart of the leisure facilities, commanding beautiful views over the local farmland and beyond. The pool is bookable in 90 minute slots. A range of therapeutic and beauty treatments from our dedicated treatment room next door. Early booking is advised. As well as the award winning pool, gym & tennis court Balbinny also has an network of fenced footpaths through the countryside past the famous Aberlemno Pictish Stones and along the banks of the Lemno burn. with plenty grass areas for football and other games there are no shortage of outdoor activities. Situated in rolling farmland between the market towns of Forfar and Brechin, which provide local amenities. Ideally placed to enjoy the beautiful and often diserted beaches at Lunan Bay and St. Cyrus as well as exploring the Angus Glens after which the Brochs and Steadings are named. From Glen Isla in the west to Glen Esk in the east there is much to explore. Further afield, the Cities of Dundee, Perth, Aberdeen and St Andrews are all within an hours drive while the capital Edinburgh, can be reached in an hour and a half. Although set in rural Angus, Balbinny is easily accessible, providing country living with none of the drawbacks of isolation.
