Stunning views and total privacy - the perfect holiday setting

Watch the fish jump and listen to a chorus of bird song in this secluded, beautiful spot on the River Wye. Cabalva Mill Cottage has been lovingly restored, blending authenticity with luxury to create an ideal rural retreat. Nestled on the bank of the river it really is just perfect for two. In the Welsh Marches, six miles from the bustling town of Hay-on-Wye and the famous Black Mountains, the private situation of the cottage, tucked away by a gentle waterfall on a family estate, makes you feel like you are the first to discover this outstanding stretch of the Wye Valley. Fishing only available at Mill Cottage.

Cwm Pelved is accessed by its own private drive it is secluded and private yet just five miles away from Hay on wye, famous town of books. Set in the unspoilt hills famously described by Kilvert as a stones throw from the beautiful Offa's Dyke footpath. Cwm Pelved is a haven for walker and nature lovers alike. The property, comprising of three large interconnected historic buildings. It has been immaculately restored retaining a wealth of original features.

Fishing the Wye, walking Offa’s Dyke, riding in the hills, or browsing the bookshops of Hay-on-Wye, these are just a few of the many activities on your doorstep. Whatever you are looking for we’ll try and help you make your holiday everything you want it to be and more.

Meet the owner

Zoe Verry

A country girl at heart, Zoe loves the great outdoors and enjoys the majestic scenery that Wales has to offer. Zoe Verry manages the two luxury holiday properties at Cabalva. A painstaking perfectionist, Zoe takes pride in the look of both properties. ‘I like uncluttered natural interiors with a dash of Welsh warmth and fun,’ she says. ‘For me the best part is meeting guests and showing them around. Many come back year after year so we develop a nice bond’. On the rare occasions that Zoe gets to go away she knows just what she wants from a holiday - ‘A warm personal welcome, a stunning property and a super comfortable bed' - and that’s exactly what we give our guests here at Cabalva!
