Stunningly situated on the shores of the River Teign estuary in South Devon, it would be hard to find a more uplifting and conveniently situated holiday house. The views of the ever changing river and the surrounding countryside can be enjoyed in all seasons as there is always something new to see. Clare Park was built in 1970 and is most interesting and even intriguing in its design! Extensive internal modernisation has been carried out in 2011 so all the comforts of the 21st century have been carefully incorporated to ensure our guests experience a luxurious and relaxing holiday.

Just over an acre of lawn slopes gently down to the riverside, from where there is direct gated access onto the foreshore. Around the fringes of the garden there are large trees and shrubs interspersed with winding pathways, providing an exciting yet safe playground for young children.

Those who are looking for water based activities will be spoilt for choice; there is opportunity for canoeing, sailing, rowing, water skiing, wakeboarding, windsurfing and swimming right at the bottom of the garden. For those who enjoy fishing, there is ample space to cast a line in the hope of catching something for the evening meal. Land based activities are also well catered for, with miles of walks in the surrounding rolling countryside and along the estuary right on the doorstep. Cyclists can enjoy long rides on small country lanes, or for those who like their cycling more rugged and challenging, there are many and varied green lanes available to explore around the immediate area.

A variety of coastal beaches are within 10 minutes drive, and the wild open spaces of Dartmoor can be reached easily within 30 minutes.

Clare Park is all on one level, with no stairs at all in the property, so it is ideal for a wide range of guests, both young and old. Whatever your views on the architectural features of this house, it has a very light and airy feel, with plenty of indoor and outdoor space for everyone thus ensuring a relaxing and peaceful holiday home.

The kitchen was refurbished in 2011 and is very well equipped with plenty of china, cutlery and a wide variety of utensils, a split level electric double oven and hob, large fridge/freezer and a dishwasher, together with a glass dining table that seats 5 people. A contemporary oak table in the dining room seats up to 10 people. Sliding doors open from the dining room to the sitting room which has three sofas and two armchairs, together with ample side tables, TV (Freeview and DVD) and a CD player. Bedroom 1 has a 6’ double bed with a pull out bed underneath, suitable for a child or small adult. This room can easily accommodate the pull out bed and a cot. The en suite bathroom has a large bath (shower over), WC and sink. Bedroom 2 has two 3’ single beds or a 6’ double, and room for the additional single bed or cot. The en suite bathroom has whirlpool bath, handheld shower, WC and sink. Bedroom 3 has two 3’ single beds or a 6’ double. Bedroom 4 has full size sturdy bunk beds. The family shower room has a large walk in shower area (wet room) together with WC and sink, washing machine and tumble dryer. A striking feature of this house is the internal courtyard (accessed through sliding glass doors from both the sitting room and the dining room) which is perfect for outdoor eating and relaxing.
