About & Contact

Cotswold country house for family and friends

This has to be probably the most stylish, elegant, luxurious self-catering holiday home less than two hours from London. Sleeping eight (plus two children) in four bedrooms with three bathrooms, it is an ideal rural retreat for a family get together, a group of friends just wanting to chill for the weekend, or a special celebration…

Relax, for we have provided every thoughtful detail to make your stay in this most beautiful of Cotswolds villages a delight from start to finish. From the moment you walk in, we will welcome you with a luxury hamper: wines, local cheese, milk fresh from the local farm, home-made bread and cake, and marmalade. So if you get down here late, don’t worry. There’s plenty to keep you going. Have a glass of wine: you will very, very soon begin to relax….

If you don’t want to cook, that's fine. You can have a local chef come in and cater for your dinner party with mouth watering delicacies which you only have to sit down and enjoy.

For those who prefer a more active lifestyle, this area of the Cotswolds, all part of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is a walkers’ paradise. Head out of the garden to untold miles and miles of walks. If wildlife is your thing, look no further than through the Breakfast Room window: blackbirds, mistle thrush, field fares, woodpecker. And at night, the owls...

There is the famous triangle of villages: Burford, Stow on the Wold, and Bourton on the Water.

Cirencester has the Corinium Museum with world famous mosaics, found very close by. Chedworth Roman Villas is within walking distance.

Shopping in Cirencester, shopping and theatre in Cheltenham, it has it all.

Meet the owner

Patricia Langley

Mike and Patricia were the owners of the Gold Star awarded Swan House in Winson for twenty years. A prolonged stay (actually stranding) in Australia during the Pandemic led to their moving house to Chedworth, a few miles up the road. They lived off grid for several months in Aus, and have made that transition, so far as possible, in Collingwood House. The most humbling comment at Swan House was "thank you for sharing it with us". We've always thought if people are coming to stay, either do it as you would for friends, or don't do it. Our choice is always to welcome friends. We hope you'll feel welcome too.
