About & Contact

Spectacular romantic hideaway in the peaceful Eden

Shepherds View Barn is the ultimate luxury retreat for 2 people to relax and pamper yourself. Situated in the unspoilt and picturesque natural beauty of the Eden Valley you can truly get away from it all in this stunning and peaceful corner of Cumbria. Renovated to a high standard you will have everything you need for a relaxing break for 2.

Downstairs you will find a fully fitted modern kitchen including an electric oven with ceramic hob, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, microwave and washer/dryer. Also on this level is a separate storage space to clean your boots, store your bikes and a log store.

Upstairs you will find a well spaced open plan bedroom and sitting area with feature window giving stunning unrestricted views of the Pennines from either bed or sofa. With underfloor heating throughout you can also snuggle up in front of the log burner and set the atmosphere with the colour change mood lighting. The bed for your stay is a super-king with Hypnos mattress and Egyptian cotton linen to give you that extra feeling of luxury. Also here you will find an LED TV with Freeview channels and Netflix, as well as a Bluetooth Bose speaker.

Leading from the bedroom is the en suite bathroom complete with walk-in shower and Jacuzzi bath. The bath is the ultimate way to rejuvenate after a day out walking or simply to pamper yourself with its pre-programmed hydrotherapy settings.

Outside you will have private parking for your car, and will be able to enjoy a private section of the award winning cottage garden with views of the Pennines. If you choose to venture out, Shepherds view is located on the edge of the attractive village of Dufton on the Pennine Way route and close to High Cup Nick, the grand canyon of the north, and you can literally walk or cycle from the door. The historic market town of Appleby is 3 miles away with all its facilities, and you are perfectly positioned for the North Yorkshire Moors and the Lake District, Keswick being only 40 minutes drive away.

Reviews for Dufton Barn Holidays

Meet the owner

Carole & Simon

Carole and Simon - We moved to Dufton in 2013, with our 2 sons and Truffles our cat. Since then we have been joined by a border collie, Nell. We started developing our barn in October 2017 and finally opened at the end of May 2018. We have tried to think of everything that you will need to have a fantastic holiday, from the perspective of what we would need or want to have. We live next to Shepherds View and carry out all the cleaning ourselves, which means we are also on hand to show you around on your arrival, and are usually only a door knock away from being able to provide help or advice with the barn or where to walk or visit - but only if you need us! Our aim is to provide you with the backdrop for a memorable break, whether you plan to explore, to be restful or romantic.
