About & Contact

A stylish barn conversion with hot tub

Stone Barn is a spacious and contemporary architect-designed converted barn, oozing character.

Equipped with high quality furnishings, bedding and linen, there are three stylish bedrooms, each with their own bathroom (two en-suite). On the ground floor is a king bedroom with a bath and shower, and plenty of storage. There's also a large bedroom that can be configured as a super king or twin. This room has a shower in its en-suite as well as custom built wardrobe. Both ground floor bedrooms are large enough for travel cots. If you'd like one, let us know and we'll put it up and take it down for you. On the first floor is a light and bright double that we call 'The Snug'. Guests use the shower room next door.

Also, upstairs, you'll find a stylish open-plan living/cooking/eating space. The kitchen has two NEFF 'slide and hide' ovens, an induction hob and a large fridge/freezer. There's plenty of storage and work space, and everything you need to self cater in style. There's a Nespresso Essenza machine and some coffee pods for you. The dining table seats six, and can be extended for special occasions.

The living area has a comfortable corner sofa and media unit. Here you can enjoy Netflix and Sky on our HDTV. There's also a real effect electric fire. And high-speed WiFi.

From the first floor you can walk out to the enclosed garden and hot tub. There's a lawned area and pretty planted borders with garden furniture for al fresco meals.

There's a large hot tub for relaxing after a day exploring Exmoor. This is the perfect spot for star gazing in our dark sky reserve.

We are child and dog-friendly. Kids will find books, DVDs, games and toys in the cottage for children of all ages. For dogs, we provide baskets and throws, towels, bowls and mats for your four-legged friends – and a treat on the welcome tray.

On-site parking for one vehicle.

Exmoor is England's smallest National Park and extremely varied. To one side is the sea and inviting beaches, to another purple heather humming with bees on the moor.

Add to this magical ancient woods, fields and hills in a green tapestry, and sheltering villages peppered with thatched cottages. Ancient castles, stately homes and historical gardens abound. The steam and whistle of the puffing West Somerset railway seems to add the finishing touch.

It is also a dark skies reserve - and there's nowhere better to stargaze than from one of our hot tubs.

Lucy who owns the cottages wrote a book of walks and places of interest called 'The Little Book of Walks' to help guests decide where to visit. As a Premier Cottages guest you will receive a free copy on your welcome tray to help you plan your stay - however long you are with us.

Owner Lucy bought The Oval, a medieval cottage in Dunster in 2008. She loved sharing her home with guests so much that by 2018 she had a portfolio of four character cottages in Exmoor. Today the team is as passionate as ever about offering beautifully furnished and decorated self-catering properties, where high spec appliances and high speed Wi-Fi sit alongside historical features such as thick walls, thatched roofs, squint windows, large fireplaces and cruck beams. Our properties are well-equipped with everything you need for a self-catering break. We provide toys, books, DVDs and games for children as well as stairgates, high chairs and travel cots. Dog owners will find bowls, baskets and mats and treats. We are especially proud of the high standard of our cleanliness and maintenance. Our gardens and hot tubs are loved by visitors. Lucy speaks to every guest before arrival to ensure the best possible experience. Whatever the time of year, and however long your stay, you will find a very warm welcome in all our cottages.
