Herdwick Hideaway-schlamping is the new glamping

Want to know more about Schlamping™?

Well, it is our own registered trademark name for luxury glamping in a cleverly crafted shepherd’s hut, add to that a glass of fizz and you have the perfect little celebratory getaway. Close to nature, our hut offers accommodation that is both quirky and rustic, but also comfortable.

The hut comes with some fabulous mod cons and have lovely design features, such as oak wooden floor, butler sink and narrow boat woodburner.

Hot running water, a mini-fridge, microwave, oak worktop, loo, shower and of course a lovely double bed. As well as a comfortable night’s sleep, guests can order a welcome breakfast basket for their arrival along with a host of other extras that can be ordered when you book your stay, such as a bottle of Fizz chilling in your fridge, a barbecue and a Stargazer package with a firepit, blankets and marshmallows so you can take in the wonderful Norfolk night sky too and listen to the owls as they keep you company. 

The hut remains true to Godwick’s landscape that is dotted with sheep, so we have named it afterone of our favourite sheep breeds, Herdwick Hideaway.

The Herdwick Hideaway is our dog friendly hut, so if you have a well-behaved small or medium size pooch you can bring him with you too for a small additional charge.

Godwick is 11 miles from Wells-next-the-Sea and Holkham, so a short drive to the beautiful beaches of north Norfolk and is a good base for exploring the coast but also within reach of the fine city of Norwich. Kings Lynn with its good train links to Cambridge and London is just 17 miles away.

Godwick Hall is a perfect piece of Norfolk, private and peaceful, rural and relaxing, luxurious and languid. A perfect place for making memories.

James Garner

Affable and ameniable fellow, who now lives in Norfolk after years working as a journalist in London. Now owns and runs an accommodation business and wedding venue at Godwick Hall. Married with three children. Loves the countryside, sport and travelling. Godwick Hall is now in its 10th year and has grown from sleeping 8 adults in 2013 to 30 adults now.
