A traditional stone-built, grade II listed cottage located in the heart of Bakewell, sleeping up to 8 in boutique luxury. This picture-perfect cottage has three individually-styled bedrooms on the upper floor sleeping up to 6 people, and one suite for 2 on the lower ground. There's a fully equipped kitchen, stone-tiled dining room with real wood stove, living room with internet TV, two beautifully-appointed bathrooms (family bathroom on the upper floor and ensuite on the lower ground floor), cottage gardens to the front, and private outdoor area to the rear. Spending time with family and friends is at the forefront of this homestay property, as four individually and thoughtfully curated bedrooms accommodate up to eight guests. A fully equipped country kitchen, separate dining room with rustic dining table, and a cosy lounge with log burner provide plentiful space for everyone. Parking permits are provided for on-street parking but we cannot guarantee space directly outside the cottage due to the nature of village-centre life. You may end up a few minutes walk from the cottage on busy days. Swallow Cottage's prime location in Bakewell makes it an ideal base for visitors to explore this popular Peak District town. Just a short stroll away (5 minutes walk) lie cozy pubs, vibrant restaurants, and bustling shops. Nearby, you can explore the grandeur of Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall, with their rich history and exquisite architecture. The Bakewell Old House Museum offers a glimpse into Tudor to Victorian times, while the Monsal Trail invites outdoor enthusiasts to embark on a scenic journey through railway heritage and stunning dales. The Bakewell Bridge offers a picturesque view of the town's medieval past, and the Thornbridge Brewery provides a modern taste of local craft beer excellence. Two small well-behaved dogs are welcome at Swallow Cottage

I'm Lucy, the owner of Swallow Cottage and Lodge Cottage, two characterful cottages in the beautiful Peak District. I'm obsessed about all things interiors and nature, so having the cottages has been the perfect opportunity to explore my passions and share them with our guests. My aim is to provide a gorgeous backdrop for your holiday and local knowledge that will help you get the most out of your trip to the Peak District. If I'm not working on making our cottages perfect for guests, or spending time with my family, you'll find me hiking in the mountains- or curled up with a good book!
