Luxury holiday cottages on the Herefordshire/Gloucestershire border

Wow! We could not have asked for a better venue! You’ve done an exceptional job restoring the barns, they are simply stunning!', Georgie and friends.

Perfectly placed for trips out or beautifully designed for relaxing days in, Kempley Barns can be found in a private valley on the Herefordshire/Gloucestershire border, surrounded by 50 acres of meadows, orchards and streams. These stunning luxury holiday cottages are close to the Malvern Hills, Forest of Dean, Wye Valley and cathedral cities of Gloucester, Hereford and Worcester.

Each holiday cottage has been lovingly restored by skilled local craftsmen, featuring lime mortared stone walls, spiral stone stairs with oak or slate floors. The cottages are fitted to the highest 5 star standards with underfloor heating, gourmet oak kitchens, granite surfaces and luxurious slate bathrooms. Spacious vaulted living and dining areas combined with comfortable bedrooms complete with Egyptian cotton linen, towels and robes.

The contemporary interiors furnished with an eclectic mix of old and new offer the tactile comfort of leather, linen, wood and stone. Living close to nature, blurring the boundaries between the inside and out offers the perfect antidote to the stresses of city life. Here you can enjoy a romantic holiday or fill the cottage with your friends and family, relax and dine together in the Granary or host your own country house party. Take a dip in the indoor heated pool, picnic under the oak tree beside the lily ponds or dine al fresco. A trampoline, table tennis table, cricket net, football table, and snooker table are also available onsite.

If you manage to drag yourself away from these luxury self-catering holiday cottages, you can practise your swing at several golf courses, place a bet at the races, explore the castles, sample the local ciders and wines or visit the many award-winning pubs and restaurants. Walk through the spectacular countryside or amble along the daffodil way. From canoeing the Wye to quad-biking, horse riding to hang-gliding, the list of outdoor activities available locally is endless.

Meet the owner

Bob or Petula Skerrett

Bob and Pet would be delighted to welcome you to Kempley Barns. We moved to the farm 20 years ago it was a mess of derelict farm buildings but with the help of our artisan builders we have lovingly restored the barns to offer our guests sophisticated country accommodation, fresh air and freedom. The farm is set in 50 acres of Perry pear orchards, landscaped gardens, wild flower meadows, with ponds and a babbling stream. The fire pit, barbecue and seating area is a great spot to while away an evening with friends. The heated indoor swimming pool is available for use by guests - we even give you some robes so you can sashay across in style!
