Dog-friendly cottage in Alnwick

Ground floor accommodation comprising of a dining room, sitting room, garden room, kitchen, double bedroom (can be set up as a twin) with large bathroom adjacent and a separate WC. Upstairs there is a double bedroom with bathroom adjacent, a further single bedroom is accessed via the bathroom.

The spacious dining room complete with ‘Mousey Thompson’ table provides a useful area for eating, reading or play board games. A fully glazed door opens onto the south-facing stone-paved terrace and lawn. The sitting room is bright and cosy with a double-height ceiling and windows on three sides. Quality sofas and armchairs provide comfortable seating around a woodburning stove, perfect for unwinding after an exciting day exploring Northumberland. There is a flat screened digital television with iPod input.

A garden room with full height glazing opens onto a west-facing terrace and garden, ideal for taking in the sunset over the Cheviot Hills. The traditionally styled kitchen is well equipped with a fridge/freezer, fan-assisted oven, ceramic hob, microwave, washing machine as well as a wide range of cooking utensils, crockery and glassware. A large wall-mounted digital television is mounted on the wall. A large en suite, ground floor bedroom can be set up either as a twin or double and benefits from level access into the garden.

The upstairs double bedroom has a flat screened digital television with the integrated DVD. There is also a small third bedroom accessed from the second bathroom. A spacious garden surrounds the cottage and features two terraces with high-quality garden furniture and a barbecue, part of the garden is fenced to provide a secure play area for children. The cottage has full gas central heating and all electricity and heating costs including logs are complementary. Cotton sheets, bathrobes and towels are provided for your use.

Meet the owner

Lydia Achard

The estate has been family owned for many years; it's run by Lydia, who also manages a local shoot. She worked for Scott Dunn in London for several years before moving back up here with her young family, so she knows exactly how to look after people and to organise the holiday they want. She will meet and greet - unless you prefer to let yourselves in.
