About & Contact

Luxurious, dog-friendly holiday cottage

Located within the original Longlands Farm courtyard, this tastefully converted 5 Star, two bedroom holiday cottage sprawls across one level. Neighbouring both our Feasting Barn and Farm Shop it is handily located for stocking up on any food supplies or forgotten items on your arrival.

The views are one of the first things you’ll notice when you start to explore The Long Barn. They are truly stunning, with beautiful ancient woodland and pastures where both sheep graze and a herd of unique Devon Red cattle roam.

For making the most of your stay we recommend time spent on the decked balcony. Drink in the abundant views of pretty wildflower meadows across to Exmoor, with a glimpse of the sea sparkling in the distance.

Positioned on its own deck above the lake, the 6 person hot tub has its own changing room and outdoor heated shower complete with aromatherapy shower gel and shampoo. Book the 'sunset hour' and relax into the warm water watching the sun go down, with a drink in hand.

The Long Barn kitchen is where you’ll enjoy the best of the local produce that the area has to offer. It is accessed up a step from the balcony, through French doors to a double aspect, open plan kitchen/dining/sitting room with vaulted ceiling and tiled floor. The kitchen also features granite worktops, a two ring induction hob, oven, butler sink, dishwasher, underfloor heating and an ice box fridge. The living space also has a sumptuous log burner for those colder nights.

A double aspect king-size bedroom with vaulted ceiling and views across the hills and landscape, this luxurious room features an en suite shower bathroom. In the twin bedroom there is a floor to ceiling picture window from which you can spy our bird feeder – perfectly placed for those children that are fascinated by garden birds.

The family bathroom has a bath, handheld shower, basin and heated towel rail. Also tucked away behind two doors in the family bathroom is the washing machine. We don’t want you having to do laundry, but should you feel the need to pop a wash on it’s a short journey from discarding dirty clothes to pressing the start button!

From the spacious rear hallway, with tiled floor, you can access a door to the gravelled courtyard by three steps.

Should you need access to the outside world (we think you’ll be too busy relaxing!) WiFi is available throughout the property.

We could quite easily fill a month with things to do in North Devon! Here are a few of our favourites if you're staying just for the weekend or a little bit longer ...

Staying the weekend? Head to Woolacombe to catch some waves or walk on the beach. Come back via Ilfracombe and indulge in a Joe Delucci ice cream on the Harbour. Head to Lynton & Lynmouth. Walk along the river Lyn and up through the wooded valley to Countisbury. Enjoy Sunday lunch at the Blue Ball. Take the coast path back down to Lynmouth. Enjoy the views and say hello to the Exmoor ponies! Potter around the shops and enjoy a Devon cream tea in one of the many tea rooms. Head home through Valley of Rocks and Woody Bay!

Staying a bit longer? Visit Dulverton, stopping at the Tarr steps on the way. Lunch at Tarr Farm or Woods in the town. Take a tour of Dunster, the Castle and shops. Enjoy lunch or a cream tea at Tessa’s. Return home on the coast road and Porlock and enjoy the stunning views.

Meet the owner

Tammy Smith

We are the Smiths - Jez and Tammy - and we took the reins at Longlands Luxury Glamping from the Given’s back in 2019. We can safely say our feet have not touched the ground since – in a good way! Having sold our previous family business; Dorset Coastal Cottages, we felt the time was right to pull our skills together as a family and find our forever home. When Longlands came on to the market, it seemed destiny had struck. We were literally blown away by this stunning location and breath-taking views of dramatic land and seascapes. Exmoor, the sandy beaches of Woolacombe and Croyde. And the sublime nature, which wraps around it. We look forward to meeting you and to sharing our love of Longlands. Tammy & Jez
