Escape, relax, unwind and recharge

You can bring one dog (in Gooseyard and Daisy's Place), your family, your bikes, your kites and of course walking boots and step out to enjoy this beautiful county. Alongside its many historic towns, castles and exquisite countryside we hope that our rare breed Soay sheep, a mix of chickens and Aylesbury ducks will all add to your experience of this rural escape.

Situated in one of the most well known foodie counties in the UK, Middle Farm offers many extra touches so you really can enjoy a taste of Shropshire. Experience our home reared Soay lamb alongside freshly laid eggs while enjoying our herbs and occasional veg when in season.

The cottages are situated in a farm courtyard in the middle of a smallholding with access to a 2 1/2 acre fishing lake. Guests are welcome to fish the lake and explore the streams. The mature pool is stream fed and well stocked with carp, tench and golden orfe.

There are plenty of outside eating areas that you can enjoy whilst staying at Middle Farm, especially our warming log burner under the Byre for a really good get together whatever the weather.

Whether you need to relax or take some exhilarating walks through these spectacular hills owners Amy and Marcus will aim to make your stay as enjoyable and memorable as possible and will gladly help tailor suggestions of things to do to suit each guest.

Some highly recommended places would include:

Acton Scott Historic Working Farm / Stokesay Castle / Attingham Park / Wroxeter Roman Ruins / Powys Castle / Wroxeter Vine Yards / Blist Hill Victorian Farm / Ludlow Castle

Meet the owner

Amy and Marcus Gault

Moving to Shropshire and buying Middle Farm has become our long awaited dream to escape to the rural countryside. Marcus spent his childhood on the family farm in Norfolk before his corporate career in London and wanted to get back to grassroots. Middle Farm couldn't be further away from that frantic life, getting away from the stresses and strains of commuting. I (Amy) grew up in an old mill in Lincolnshire and ran an outside catering company, amongst other small enterprises, for several years whilst renovating a series of old houses and bringing up our children Dotty and George. The kids have now left home and begun their new lives at university....and now it's our turn! We are looking forward to welcoming both returning and new guests to Middle Farm in this beautiful restful corner of England.
