A former listening post and renowned as the birthplace of wireless interception communications during WW1, Hippisley Hut is thoroughly infused with history. Nestled privately in Old Hunstanton, its ambiguity is perhaps its best feature. Secluded, yet in the heart of the village, you can do as little or as much as you like. Walk your four-legged friends to the beach, go for a bite to eat at the local pub, or simply relax in refined, self-catered, verandah-fronted elegance. And sleeping up to 10 guests, the whole family can enjoy a spacious, memory-enduring North Norfolk getaway. Accommodating up to ten guests sleeping in five luxury bedrooms (four king/twin beds, one king double bed), across two floors, Hippisley Hut is ideal for large families and small groups looking for that unique self-catering property with plenty of space and privacy. On the ground floor is a very well-equipped kitchen and dining room, next to a main sitting room with log fire and a second ‘TV room’. Two king-sized bedrooms along with a shower room can also be found on the ground floor. Upstairs are three further bedrooms, one en-suite and a family bathroom. At the front of the property is the gallery reading room offering stunning views across the Norfolk countryside. The quiet character of Old Hunstanton complements its busy sibling Hunstanton with coastal walks along the Norfolk Coast Path and Peddars Way. St Mary’s Church is a Grade I listed building situated in the grounds of Hunstanton Hall and was built by Sir Hamon le Strange in the 1300s. Old Hunstanton is also the base for the local RNLI Lifeboat station where you can watch the lifeboat and Hovercraft launch every Sunday morning. Rolling sand dunes and beach huts line Old Hunstanton’s wide sandy beach. A popular arts and craft centre, Michelin star restaurant, family and dog-friendly pub and Hunstanton Golf Club with its renowned links course, makes Old Hunstanton the ideal base for exploring North Norfolk. As an area of outstanding natural beauty, North Norfolk is dotted with award-winning blue flag beaches, well sign-posted walking trails, birdwatching at the two local RSPB reserves and sampling (after picking it yourself) a few local seafood specialties such as samphire and crabs.
