Located on the naturally inspiring 500 acre, private Orroland estate, is Abbotsway Cottage. This stone built, single storey cottage is especially peaceful and private; the perfect retreat for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike.
Positioned off the main lane into Orroland estate, the lodge has its own private drive and your nearest neighbour, at Cutlar’s Lodge, is about 5 minutes’ walk away.
Well suited for multi-generational escapes, this cottage is all on one level with occasional steps. Abbotsway Cottage sleeps five people in a king-size bedroom, a single room and a twin room. There is a bathroom, with a shower over the bath, plus a second shower room.
You'll have all the space you need, with the three bedrooms located in two separate wings. Each bedroom comes with top of the range beds, so you can get some well-needed sleep after a day of exploring.
And while you’re sleeping, you can even charge your electric car as Abbotsway Cottage has its own Type 2 7KW EV Car Charger.
Fancy a games night? A private games room, complete with a pool table, table tennis table and smart TV is available for everyone to enjoy.
And if you’re in the mood for a snug movie night, you can relax in the sitting room, which features a smart TV, log burner and plenty of logs and kindling.
In the kitchen, a fresh, homemade cake will be laid out for you and you’ll have the freedom to cook up a feast in the spacious farmhouse kitchen, which includes a dishwasher.
With plenty of hot water and thermostatic control, you can enjoy a hot shower and set the heating to a comfortable temperature throughout your stay.
If you want to take the party outside, you will have access to sturdy outdoor table and chairs and a barbecue set amidst well-tended lawns and flower beds. The garden is not fully enclosed, instead there's a full enclosed courtyard with the games room off it, providing safe freedom for children and dogs.
Hike through nearby woodlands and spot local wildlife such as roe deer, red kites and red squirrels. With such an abundance of flora and fauna throughout the area, you’ll never tire of exploring. Should you not be feeling active you can spot the wildlife out of the bay window in the sitting room using the binoculars provided.
An ideal place to allow young ones to experience the true beauty of nature, they can explore, make dens, skim stones and climb trees, all within a safe environment. This is a perfect place to bring babies and children. At Abbotsway Cottage, you’ll find a cot, highchair, stair gates, fire guard, toys and books.
And for older children – well, you may struggle to get them to come back in from all the adventures the estate has to offer. Whether it’s rock pooling on the nearby shoreline, tree climbing in our beautiful grounds, or running through our wildflower meadow, they won’t be short of fun.
The shared spaces are for you to enjoy alongside the guests at Orroland’s other two holiday homes as well as the family who live there.
