Beautiful cottage, beautiful location

The best of both worlds! Surrounded by gentle, rolling landscape yet just 2 miles from the vibrant market town of Ashbourne, gateway to the Peak District. Parkfields Stable is a warm, welcoming, stylish cottage with lovely walks from the door. There is a fantastic range of things to do locally from visits to historic houses, sporting and adventure activities, theme parks, exploring the beautiful landscapes to enjoying the atmosphere and food of some great country pubs.

The cottage is in a peaceful, rural location offering true quiet and sanctuary and is also brilliantly placed; the vast majority of attractions listed under 'What's Local?' are within a 15-40 minute drive ... Chatsworth House, Kedleston Hall and Sudbury Hall; Carsington Water; Tissington, the High Peak and Manifold cycle trails; Dovedale, Thorpe Cloud, Hartington and The Roaches; Alton Towers, Gulliver's Kingdom and The Heights of Abraham to name a few.

And the cottage itself? Guests say they love the light, airy, contemporary space; the interior has been designed and decorated to the highest standard offering an alternative to the magnolia and pine combination found in many cottages. There are large windows throughout onto stunning views and a chance to watch out for owls, birds of prey and other animals. Sit back, relax and listen to the sounds of the countryside; there is rarely any passing traffic here!

For those days when you don't want to drive there are simple pleasures from the front door: gentle (or strenuous!) walks, paddling in the stream across the field, strolling to the local pub, enjoying a picnic by the river, visiting the neighbouring llamas, kicking a ball around the field and sitting out on a summer evening for a barbecue. There is a large barn for indoor play/running off steam in case of rain and ample storage for bikes, canoes and other equipment.

The owners, Becky and Tom, love this location and take pleasure in sharing it with others. They are able to take some of the legwork out of researching a new area, are happy to talk through ideas for things to do locally before you arrive and are diligent at trying out the local pubs and restaurants on your behalf! Guests will notice that the personal touch is evident in every aspect of their holiday here.

The cottage offers the following accommodation:
The downstairs sitting room has 2 sofas, a coffee table, TV and DVD player, CD player with iPod dock and a collection of books and toys.
The compact and excellently equipped kitchen and dining area get the morning sun and have beautiful views. There is a dishwasher, Bosch oven, microwave, electric hob, fridge with freezer compartment (a full size freezer is also available) and washing machine. The dining table seats 4. A hall area with coat and shoe storage connects the kitchen and dining area to the sitting room. The bathroom has a power shower, basin and WC.
Upstairs the front bedroom has wonderful views, a super king bed, TV, built in cupboards with plenty of storage and en suite WC and hand basin. The back bedroom has twin beds, built in cupboards, a dressing table and gorgeous views. All bedding is 100% cotton.
There is a back and front garden; both lead to fields within the property. There are indoor and our our play areas, indoor storage for bikes etc and outdoor furniture and barbecue are provided. Baby/toddler equipment is available on request, including cot bedding.
