About & Contact

Luxury 5 star accessible dog friendly cottage

Sara's Cottage is a detached, private, luxurious country residence ideally located for visiting both the North and South coast beaches. The cottage is only 10 minutes drive from the cathedral city of Truro and provides easy access to the many gardens and attractions Cornwall has to offer.

The cottage is also a short drive from three village pubs, the National Trust Gardens at Trelissick and the King Harry ferry leading to the Roseland peninsula. The coast to coast cycle trail at Bissoe is also close by and The Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan are forty minutes drive away.

All on one level and wide doorways make this an ideal holiday home for the less mobile as well as for families and couples. The cottage has three bathrooms, one of which is a wet-room suitable for a wheelchair user. The heated garden room allows enjoyment throughout the year of the private south facing rear garden which is surrounded by Cornish stone hedges and oak trees. The sunny patio is ideal for meals or evening drinks.

All three bedrooms have patio doors leading onto the rear garden which allow you to enjoy the many birds that visit the feeding stations in the garden.

Sara's Cottage is a place where you can truly unwind and relax. Please note there are the occasional small herd of Dexter cattle in the surrounding fields. There is plenty of dog walking from the door as the cottage is set in 50 acres of the owners’ land which is next to Carrine Common.

We guarantee a refund in the event of your holiday being affected by a Covid Lockdown. Please see Booking Conditions for full details.

Reviews for Sara's Cottage

Meet the owner

Diane Knight

It was 2001 when Diane and Terry purchased Carrine Farm, which included the derelict cattle shed that was later to be converted to Sara's Cottage. Diane was born in Lancashire and Terry in Devon although Terry's roots are Cornish. They have both spent over forty years in Cornwall. They have two adult children and two grandchildren, all of whom who live nearby. The rest of the family comprises two Golden Retrievers Peggy and her niece Ivy. Diane is a retired financial adviser and Terry a retired accountant. Diane's hobbies are keeping fit, riding horses, walking the dogs and bird watching. Terry enjoys gardening and watching rugby. Diane and Terry live on site and are, therefore, on hand if you need anything or just want a friendly chat or help with planning a day out. One of their greatest pleasures is seeing the transformation in cottage guests who arrive looking tired and leave looking relaxed and happy.
