Relaxed luxury on Berwick and Lindisfarne Coast

Causeway Barn makes for luxurious but relaxed living while providing excellent access to North Northumberland, the beautiful Scottish Borders and Edinburgh.

Situated on a charming former dairy farm steading. Access is via a residents only private driveway surrounded by tranquil fields where cows and calves graze, deer forage, buzzards fly high in the sky above.

The Lindisfarne Nature Reserve is within walking distance as are the golden sands of the Heritage Coast AONB comprising Cocklawburn beach, Cheswick sands, Goswick bay stretching southwards to the tidal causeway of Holy Island. The Barn is a short ride to the Coast and Castle Cycle Route and is cyclist friendly. Holy Island causeway is a 10 minute drive, Bamburgh and Farne Islands, St Abb's Nature Reserve 20 minutes, Alnwick Garden and Castle 30 minutes, Cragside - The home of Victorian inventor Lord Armstrong 40 minutes … so many attractions and so much to do!

Accommodation:

Kitchen/dining room: a very large and airy south west facing room with central dining table and doors leading into the garden. Here, Lavender, Rose, Jasmine and Rosemary scent the air and pops of brightly coloured Hydrangeas and a beautiful red Acer captivates the eye. Enjoy the lovely easterly view from the window above the kitchen sink to open fields.

Country cream integrated units with solid oak worktops and Italian porcelain floor tiles. Solid oak dining table with seating for 6 including 4 comfy carver chairs with deep cushions. Integrated appliances include full height fridge 60%/ freezer 40% and dishwasher. Bosch fan oven with eye level grill and extractor, 6 ring electric hob. Air-Fryer. Bosch washing/dryer machine, Dualit toaster and kettle, filter coffee machine, iron and ironing board. Large storage cupboard for coats and boots.

Al Fresco terrace with dining table, 4 chairs, loungers, charcoal BBQ (please bring your own charcoal) sun parasol and hammock for day dreaming.

We provide all the following: 3 tea towels. 1 kitchen hand towel, 1 quality kitchen roll. 2 disposable kitchen J cloths. 1 quality sponge/scourer. Surface cleaner and disinfectant. CIF cream. Ceramic hob cleaner. One pan brush. 1 bottle of hand soap. Fairy washing up liquid. Finish dishwasher tablets, (minimum of 7). Dishwasher salt and Rinse Aid. Non-Bio washing machine tablets, (minimum of 4). Cling film. Aluminium foil. Sea salt and coarse black pepper in grinders. Coffee filter papers. Bin bags. Oven gloves. Hot drink sweetener.

Welcome hamper: a complimentary pack is provided upon your arrival and consists of: local dairy Northumbrian milk. Northumberland tea bags, ground coffee sachets, pressed fruit juice, biscuits and seasonal sweet and savoury surprises.

Sitting room: luxury designed, 'Retreat' with three large sofas with footstools, deep feather cushions and warm wool throws. Quality furnishings include Zoffany wallpaper, large coffee table, console tables, display cabinets, rugs, and desk Abraham Moon and Son wool curtains, sunblinds, 100% wool carpet.

Smart TV with Netflix, DVD player. Board games, jigsaws, cards and dominoes. Vase filled with fresh seasonal flowers on arrival. Information, magazines and books on Northumberland, the Scottish Borders and Edinburg. Eating out guide and maps with suggested day trips in the local area as recommended by your hosts.
