Luxury Northumberland cottage near Lindisfarne

Causeway Barn is a Northumbrian stone and slate barn conversion in a great location on a charming former dairy farm steading. The farm is accessed via a residents only driveway surrounded by tranquil fields 2 miles to the south of Berwick upon Tweed with many restaurants, shops and supermarkets. The Lindisfarne Nature Reserve and Heritage coast is close by with miles of golden sandy beaches. The Barn is a short ride to the start of the Coast and Castle Cycle Route and is cyclist friendly. The Barn makes for luxurious and relaxed living with easy access to Northumberland, Scottish Borders and Edinburgh.

Kitchen/dining - a beautiful light and airy west facing room with French doors leading onto the garden terrace with outdoor dining table and chairs for Al Fresco dining. There is a lovely easterly view to open fields (often with cows grazing) and woods. Country cream integrated units with solid oak worktops and Italian porcelain floor tiles throughout. Solid oak dining table with generous seating for 6. Integrated appliances include full height fridge 60%/freezer 40%, fan oven with eye level grill and extractor over, large electric hob. Bosch washing/dryer machine, dishwasher, Magimix food processor, toaster, kettle, filter coffee machine, iron and ironing board.

Sitting room is luxurious with quality full length curtains, wool carpet and restful Gustavian style wallpaper. There is a large curved designer sofa and two arm swivel/rocking armchairs for guests to relax on and for entertainment a flat screen TV, DVD player and selection of DVDs. There is also an iPod docking station, many local interest leaflets, books and games. Arched doors lead on to a terrace in the rear garden with sun loungers for the summer season.

Bedroom 1 – a large room with Super king size bed (6 ft wide) with pocket sprung mattress, made up in professionally laundered linen with tog of duvet to suit the season. Bedside tables with free standing table lamps. Dressing table with magnifying mirror, hair dryer and Robert’s Digital Radio. Generous wardrobes/storage. Windows are fitted with, 'Blackout' blinds to promote a good night’s sleep. In the bath area a fabulous free standing bath perfect for relaxing in along with a Lloyd Loom easy chair and complimentary bath and hand towels. En suite with walk in shower, heated towel rail, WC and hand wash basin. Velux window with views to open fields and the sea beyond.

Bedroom 2 – a spacious room with twin beds (3ft wide each) or zip and linked to form a super king-size double (6 ft wide). The bed has an orthopaedic mattress and is made up in professionally laundered linen with tog of duvet to suit the season. Bedside table with free standing table lamps and a Robert’s digital radio. Free standing quality wardrobe, large chest of drawers and dressing table with hairdryer. Windows are fitted with, 'Blackout' blinds to promote a good night’s sleep. Bathroom off the landing with full size bath, walk in shower, heated towel rail, WC and hand wash basin. Velux window with views to open fields and the sea beyond.

Outside - The Farm Steading comprises 10 stone and slate barn conversions and Farmhouse. To the rear of the Barn is a beautiful garden that enjoys sunshine from before noon to evening in summer and is wonderfully sheltered by the larger courtyard formation. To the front is a private residents driveway, private car parking for 2 cars and open fields with views towards the sea.

Children of age 3 years and over are welcome to stay when accompanied/supervised by adult(s). The Barn is a pet and smoke free zone.
