Luxurious sleeps 2 with access to coast & country

Acorn Cottage is a converted milking parlour, dating from 1868 and whilst its rustic charm on the outside, it has every convenience inside to provide guests with a luxurious and comfortable stay.

Tastefully renovated it has a marble clad bathroom with underfloor heating, well-equipped kitchen with every appliance you could need and a charming large living/dining space where you can relax in comfort. Stream music from your phone to the connected Roberts radio, or watch an on-demand movie from the set-top box.

The king-size bed is cloaked in Egyptian cotton sheets and goose-down pillows & duvets, you’ll not want to get out of bed!

You'll be right in the heart of Southleigh, a beautiful agricultural hamlet just 3 miles inland from the Jurassic coast and South West Coastal Path at Beer and Branscombe.

There are terrific walks from our door, head to Blackberry Camp an Iron Age hill fort, or you can even walk all the way to the coast at Branscombe by footpath from our door. We have OS maps you can borrow if you want to explore the wonder of the East Devon National Landscape by foot. If getting out onto the water is more your thing, bring your paddle board, East Devon's beaches are ideal spots and there are fishing trips from nearby Beer and Lyme Regis.

Fantastic local restaurants, pubs and eateries really celebrate our wonderful local produce, and Glebe House, is literally above us in Southleigh. The charming towns of Lyme Regis and Sidmouth are but 20 minutes away by car, full of independent shops and nice places to dot in for a coffee or something stronger, perfect if the weather isn’t suited to relaxing on the beach!

We provide a comprehensive welcome pack of locally sourced lovely ingredients to get your stay off to a flying start and provide all detergents, laundry liquid etc so you don’t have to bring half your kitchen cupboards with you when staying with us.  Stay for 7 nights or 14 nights for best nightly rate.

We welcome guests with dogs and take up to two well behaved dogs at Acorn Cottage (altough we only provide 1 doggie bed).  Four legged guests get treats, feeding bowls and poo-bags are provided, we even have a hot and cold doggie shower outside and provide towels to dry your four legged friend!

Ants Letcher

Ants’ first job was in Hospitality Management, however, his career took a turn and he worked for over 20 years leading digital platforms and teams for many well-known global brands … but his passions lay elsewhere. Food is and has always been his passion – he loves cooking, finding new produce and interesting ingredients and they are keen hosts, regularly entertaining friends and family. Lance worked in the Customer Service industry for over 30 years before diverging into the commercial aspect of providing medical services to private practitioners and the NHS. Monday to Friday he's working but he’s on hand for weekend guests!
