Stay on the Hill is a unique experience offering guests luxury holiday accommodation in the heart of the Tyne Valley, Northumberland. Walking distance from Hadrian’s Wall and only 5 miles from the market town of Hexham.

Both cottages have been newly refurbished: The Laverick Cottage is a 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom cottage. There is an enormous open plan kitchen / dining / living room which makes it an excellent space for family and entertaining.

The Bothy is a gorgeous 1 bedroom cottage, with en suite shower room, separate toilet, high beamed ceilings and large kitchen with far reaching views.

Both cottages sit on the hill overlooking the river Tyne with fabulous views across the local countryside. These cottages have private gardens and offer guests peace and tranquillity in a self-catering environment, with direct access to many public footpaths.

Meet the owner

James Middleton

James & Emma moved to High Warden in Northumberland with their 4 young children in 2018. They run these two holiday cottages - The Laverick & The Bothy alongside their guest house which is positioned just over the hill. The cottages are part of Warden Estates, a traditional working farm owned by Emma’s family. As a family they love travelling, walking and cycling and are passionate about offering guests the upmost quality and service. Their moto is: 'try to exceed guests expectations at all times'.
