Traditional romantic dog-friendly cottage

Previously a cider mill, Cider Cottage is a romantic 17th Century cottage, providing a perfect setting for a relaxing break. The beautiful holiday cottage has enchanted honeymoon couples, unwinding here following their weddings. Others have stayed in order to seek peace and quiet, away from traffic and the noise and bustle of working life.

The cosy dog-friendly cottage has a double bedroom with original beams, low windows, and skylight which is truly wonderful to wake up to. You may also wake to the twittering of birds calling to one another at the start of a new day. Suitably refreshed after a shower in the adjoining wetroom, head downstairs to enjoy a delicious breakfast; cooked in a newly fitted German designed kitchen. This is fitted with a range of appliances guaranteed to make your stay easy and memorable. The living area has space for four to dine, and there is a downstairs cloakroom. Sit back, relax and unwind with your favourite programmes on the HD Smart TV with Freeview, or watch a movie on the Blu-ray player, or just listen to some music on the Stereo with iPod dock. And if you want to let your friends know, upload your holiday pictures using the free WiFi available in the cottage. In the warmer weather, there are two patios; the one at the cottage’s entrance has stunning views over the Garron Valley and beyond, and is perfect for catching a colourful sunset. The rear patio is enclosed and safe for children and dogs and a firm favourite for barbecues. Children and dogs love roaming the 12 acres and thoroughly enjoy the freedom of the glorious countryside. Birds and bats are frequently seen as are squirrels chasing one another through the trees. By going down a few steps, Cider Cottage can be interlinked with Bramble’s Barn to cater for larger parties, which in turn links to Valley View which is on the same level as Bramble's Barn.

Meet the owner

Edward & Marian Drzymalski

Marian and Edward were VSO's (Voluntary Service Overseas) and then teachers, moving to Thatch Close in 1980. Six years were spent in converting the barns, which were completed in 2015 so everyone, including the less able, could share in the idyllic surroundings. Over the years we have extended and improved the garden, planted trees, re-laid hedges and brought the pond back to life. We share our home with Bella our dog and Zippy the African Grey Parrot.
