Luxury, Private, Beachside Irish holiday cottages

Luxurious 300-year-old thatched cottages superbly situated in private, gated, organic flower gardens in a magical, haven like setting on 6 miles of sandy beach. Discover the hidden treasures of Ireland's Ancient East from this perfect location.

Featured by the Sunday Times Travel Magazine as the 'The Coolest Cottages in Britain and Ireland'.

Come and explore the mysterious and ancient beauty of the Boyne Valley or the vibrant beat of Dublin’s Heart, discover the many and varied attractions in the area, including the world heritage site of Newgrange which predates the pyramids, over 40 golf courses, an abundance of castle and gardens, a wide choice of children's attractions including Dublin Zoo, Water World and Emerald Park or just relax, stretch your limbs and ease your mind on miles of sandy beach and then retire to your own dream cottage.

These 5* whitewashed seaside cottages are situated on the famous 6-mile sandy beach between the villages of Bettystown and Laytown, just 25 minutes from Dublin Airport. The perfect base from which to explore the East Coast of Ireland.

The Cottages are that wondrous thing 'an undiscovered treasure'' somewhere once experienced, never to be forgotten. With uninterrupted sea or garden views, feature fireplaces, well-stocked bookshelves, free WiFi, satellite TV & Complimentary EV charging, organic flower gardens, play areas and barbecues. Take time to exhale in this oasis of calm and beauty, above all Relax, Revive, Recharge. You will not be disappointed!

Personal service and a family tradition dating back to 1908 have provided us with a wealth of experience in making your holiday a special one to remember. We pride ourselves on our attention to detail. Traditional Irish pubs, restaurants, shops, supermarkets and services all just a short walk by beach or road.

To quote a travel writer who visited in the recent past... "In a completely selfish moment... I thought 'don't write about this one... keep it as a secret hideaway'... but a place so beautiful is meant to be shared and enjoyed..."

The Cottages provide all-year-round comfort and space. Take time out in 2024 to relax and enjoy some downtime in an extra special place!

Meet the owner

Liz & Roger Pickett

Roger and I took two years out to renovate and update The Cottages Ireland to the highest standard that we wanted for our Guests, our criteria was to create a cottage experience where we ourselves would love to holiday. Each year we continue to upgrade both the cottages and the gardens to provide that extra special environment for all who stay. Roger as an Engineer is totally at home with all the upgrades and I am ever happy with the interiors and cottage gardens, which I am delighted to say are a constant source of pleasure for all to enjoy. Together with our long established and valued Team, we are here to Welcome you and ensure that your holiday is one where magical cherished memories are made. We live here at The Cottages ourselves so it's very much 'A labour of love'. We look forward to welcoming you to your home away from home. As they say in Ireland "A stranger is a friend you've yet to meet"
