A beautiful character farmhouse near Hebden Bridge, the Long View Yorkshire perches in extensive grounds overlooking woods, valleys and a sweep of Yorkshire moors. Perfect for relaxing and rekindling family ties, or celebrating with friends, this beautiful holiday house sleeping 15 sits behind stone mullion windows, with one of the finest views in Yorkshire. Enjoy the fresh air and wild beauty of God's Own Country.
This boutique farmhouse is perfect for celebration stays, birthdays and reunions, and is centrally located in secluded, wonderful countryside between Manchester and Leeds. It is easily reachable from many parts of the UK for the weekend.
There is a walled spa garden with hot tub and sauna year round, with a cold plunge session included in Spring and Summer. The house is a destination in itself, with extensive grounds for your group's private use.
The hub of the house is a big kitchen with AGA, deep Chesterfield sofa, smart TV, and an elegant dining table seating 15. There's a separate food preparation area off here (ideal to store all your goodies or as a prep area for caterers).
The sitting room has a woodburner, comfortable sofas, and another big smart TV - perfect for catching movies by firelight. There is a large games room, with pool table and table tennis. Another sitting room is perfect as a breakout space or for curling up with a book, with a cupboard of board games.
There's a downstairs bedroom for anyone less mobile (with a couple of steps down), with a super king or twin (and an additional single bed if required), with a luxury en suite shower room. Six bedrooms upstairs are a mix of super kings, kings and a twin, one a large suite with adjoining room with bunks. Some upstairs bedrooms are en suite, and there is also a large family bathroom with roll-top bath and shower.
At night, drink fizz in the hot tub in the walled garden, watching shooting stars, or enjoy a barbie on the terrace.
The Long View is so playful and peaceful, you don't need to venture out, though it's a shame not to; the shops, restaurants and galleries of renowned Hebden Bridge are 3 miles away - a short drive, or lovely daytime walk through woods. Wonderful footpaths and biking tracks go from the door, with the Pennine Bridleway, Pennine Way and National Trust woodland nearby. There is a country pub within walking distance of the house.
Day trips include Hebden Bridge, Haworth (home of the Bronte sisters), the Worth Valley Steam railway, the medieval village of Heptonstall, Halifax with its incredible Piece Hall (now a music venue with big name bands), and Eureka – The National Children’s Museum. Bolton Abbey and Skipton in the southern part of the Yorkshire Dales are also within an easy day trip by car.
The owner is able to supply contacts for private chefs, caterers, cocktail classes, and yoga and Pilates sessions in house. Hen celebrations can arrange a relaxing bride-to-be yoga circle session. There are superb restaurants and bars in Hebden Bridge, and taxis and private minibuses are bookable for evenings out in Hebden Bridge and the Piece Hall.
This is a large house for holidays and celebration stays, but it isn't a wild party house. Male and female groups are equally welcome, though we request that any men's pre-wedding groups contact the owner prior to booking.
