About & Contact

Large, modern converted barn near the North Coast

A short drive from the North Cornwall coast, The Old Parlour is set in a quiet rural location on a working farm but close to all North Cornwall beaches and activities.

The Old parlour has been recently converted and you enter into the open plan kitchen, dining and lounge. This large space has vaulted ceilings with exposed oak beams, the kitchen has real slate worktops, a central island station, American style fridge/freezer and large range style cooker, making cooking for large parties a pleasure rather than a chore. There is a second spacious living room on the ground floor; with a traditional slate floor, large TV and big comfortable corner sofa plus table football. We certainly have plenty of room for everyone to relax.

There are 2 king and 2 double bedrooms, all of which have TVs. The king bedroom on the lower level (off the 2nd lounge) is massive; it includes a sofa as well as an en suite with shower and a bath as well as doors taking you out to the enclosed courtyard. One of the double bedrooms upstairs is also en suite plus there is a family shower room. We can provide up to 3 travel cots so great for young families and the sofa's in the king suite and 2nd lounge are also sofa beds to allow flexible sleeping arrangements.

We have superfast WiFi and all TVs have Netflix as well as lots of games, books, children's toys, Table Football and Table Tennis there is lots to keep everyone entertained when the British weather isn't being kind.

The enclosed courtyard has a Weber barbecue (initial charcoal included) wooden table and chairs for alfresco dining, a small climbing frame for the children and the hot tub is undercover so can be enjoyed no matter what the weather. We also provide separate towels and bathrobes for the hot tub, not forgetting there is a outdoor drinks fridge as well.

If you’re bringing your dog on holiday with you, we make sure they’re looked after too. There is an outdoor dog shower/wash area for your dog (with shampoo and towels) and we provide dog beds and bedding, a pen for them to sleep in, water/food bowls and treats on arrival.

Families love visiting The Tamar Otter Park, Hidden Valley, Trethrone, New Mills all of which are a short drive from us. Bude is a great seaside town (20 minutes away) and has a great selection of pubs and restaurants as well as 3 great beaches and good shopping. We also love visiting Padstow, one of our favourite activities as a family is to hire bikes at Wadebridge and cycle the Camel Trail into Padstow.

We live onsite and can help with any recommendations of where to visit or eat.

Reviews for The Old Parlour

Meet the owner

Amy Daniel

Amy and Paul Daniel converted the milking parlour into The Old Parlour when the farm changed from dairy to rear a pedigree Charolais herd. Paul's family have been on the farm since 1994 and we also have chickens, 2 donkeys and a pygmy goat so along with our 2 young girls there is lots to keep us busy. Paul's dad Derek is on hand to show you our animals and during Spring and Summer you will spot some of our Charolais herd as you drive up to The Old Parlour. We live on site so here to help with anything and can recommend lots of places to visit.
