About & Contact

Seaside holidays 400m from Swanage beach

Close to Swanage beach and the town centre and only 2.5 hours drive from London, The Quarterdeck has lovely views over Swanage bay and the town valley. Relax and enjoy the view from the light, bright rooms, from our wide first-floor balcony, or from the hot tub in our secluded back garden, where you can glimpse the bay through the trees. The house is perfect for gatherings of friends and family. The beach, shops and pubs are all nearby, yet the immediate environment is quiet and green.

The Quarterdeck is furnished in a modern, simple style, and is a slightly quirky 'upside-down' layout with semi-open living areas on the first floor linking the fully equipped kitchen, dining area and living room. There's a separate utility room for the washer and drier and any muddy boots.

The bedrooms can be arranged in a number of different ways, depending on your preferences. Upstairs, the master bedroom can be laid out as either a super-king bed or split into two singles. The second bedroom is a double and can be presented either as a bedroom or, if the bed isn't needed, as a games room with a pool table, second TV and a selection of games. Downstairs, one of the bedrooms is a king-size double, and the other sleeps four people, with twin beds that can be joined into a super king, along with a full size bunk bed. There are two bathrooms (with showers and heated floors) and one shower room.

Outside, the back patio is perfect for outdoor dining with a table seating 10 and a gas barbecue. The hot tub is tucked away at the top of the garden behind the fig and apple trees. There is also a wide balcony reached from the living room to the front of the house where guests often sit with a drink and to watch the sun go down over Swanage's roof-tops.

The Quarterdeck has a 43 inch smart TV with Netflix and Amazon access and DVD/CD player, Bluetooth speakers to use with your own device and a second TV and PlayStation 2 in the games room.

Reviews for The Quarterdeck

Tripadvisor logo

Meet the owner

Chris and Shona Radford

We love Swanage. Chris's parents lived here, and our children (and their friends!) grew up enjoying holidays at The Quarterdeck since 2001. We still use the house for family holidays, so we know how it feels to stay here, and we do our best to make everything perfect for our guests. We are keen walkers and enjoy wild swimming off the coast, and as Swanage is the gateway to the World Heritage Jurassic Coast, we are spoilt for choice. Numerous stunning walks start in Swanage, and there is a multitude of other attractions in the local area. The Quarterdeck is also only a few minutes walk from Swanage's famous sandy bucket-and-spade beach. The town centre has plenty of choice of cafes, pubs, restaurants and quirky shops, but our personal favourite is probably Top Deck, an open-air seafood restaurant where we can watch the sun set over Swanage bay.
