About & Contact

Listen to the owls and watch the stars

Located on the owners’ working farm in the village of Betley is a beautiful shepherd’s hut suitable for two adults, ideal for a romantic stay.

The shepherd's hut is situated on our private 180 acre estate

Come and stay in our pretty, relaxing, well appointed shepherds hut that sleeps two in a double bed and has an en suite shower. Listen to the owls and watch the stars, whilst taking in the beautiful scenery.

The Hut, called 'Dingle View' is situated in its own private woodland. As well as being a working farm, there are many events held throughout the year, including the village show in August, a charity bike ride in July and one of the UK’s largest bonfires and fireworks displays. There are two pubs, both which serve food, within walking distance.

Surrounded by 180 acres of farmland, the area is great for walking, with plenty of public footpaths accessible directly from the grounds. This property is suitable for two adults only. Coarse fishing is available on site (permit available from the farmhouse).

Other popular activities locally include golf and mountain biking or, for those who want something a bit different, why not try the Go Ape Forest Adventure at Delamere, 26 miles, or motor racing at Oulton Park, 18 miles. Trentham Monkey Forest is a great day out for families and is situated just a short distance. A wider range of amenities can be found in Crewe or Newcastle-under-Lyme which are both 7 miles away. The charming market town of Nantwich which has lots of historic buildings as well as plenty of bars, shops and cafés is 8 miles. Enjoy a day out at Chester Zoo or Alton Towers, both 30 miles.

Other places of interest close by include Bridgemere Garden World, 5 miles and The Potteries at Stoke-on-Trent, 14 miles, with North Wales also very accessible. Whether you like to stay active or simply want to just relax, this lovely shepherd's hut offers something to suit everyone. Shop and pub 800 yards, restaurant 1 mile.

Reviews for The Shepherds Hut at Betley Court Farm Holiday Cottages

Meet the owner

Jayne Speed

We are Frank and Jayne Speed and farm at Betley Court Farm in Cheshire. We started off as tenant farmers, but fortunately we had chance to buy the farm in 2001. Then we had to pay a mortgage. I already did B&B in the farmhouse which I started when the children were young. During that time, I studied interior design at Burslem School of Art, near to the Potteries, where Clarice Cliffe trained. I had the opportunity of working closely with a sofa company in Lancashire, about 45 mins from Betley. We designed sofas, choosing fabulous fabrics and leathers. The natural progression was curtain design, luckily, I have always enjoyed sewing, my Nan taught me, and I did well in the Young Farmers competitions. I now employ two ladies to sew, I do the designing, measuring, hanging and dressing. We have worked all over the country and done a few large holiday homes. In 2017 we converted the old estate workshop into two holiday cottages - Carpenters and Woodside. We opened a tearoom at the same time, near to our interior showroom. The Pig Pen was our lockdown project. I don’t have time for many hobbies - I do enjoy a day's horse racing, Frank races his pigeons.
