Downstairs, there is an open plan living area with comfy leather sofa and easy chair, a flat screen HD TV and Blu-ray DVD player, and music system with iPod dock. There are plenty of books, games, DVDs and CDs to keep you occupied. The dining table is set with Denby crockery and fresh flowers, and the fully fitted kitchen includes a fridge freezer, washer dryer, dishwasher, microwave, electric oven and gas hob. Essentials such as salt and pepper, oil and spices, tea, coffee (ground and instant), sugar and milk are all provided. The underfloor heating ensures a warm and cosy atmosphere on even the coldest of days. The ground floor bathroom features a magnificent roll top bath with overhead shower rose - the perfect place to relax and unwind, with complimentary toiletries, fluffy towels and robes, all from The White Company. The beautiful galleried bedroom has a king-size bed under the eaves, made up with top quality Egyptian cotton bedlinen and luxury bedding. There is an easy chair and flat screen TV in the bedroom, as well as plenty of books and magazines.
The cottage is suitable for a baby under six months, and baby equipment is available on request.
Malmesbury boasts a surprising array of attractions, all of which are an easy walk from The Stables at The Rookery. The highlight of any stay in Malmesbury must be a visit to its beautiful Abbey, dating back to the 7th century.
Westonbirt Arboretum, just 5 miles from Malmesbury, is famed for its superb collection of Japanese Maples and is spectacular all year round.
Also within easy reach are Tetbury, Cirencester, Bath and Bristol, as well as several National Trust properties and of course the glorious Cotswold countryside.
