Self-catering, dog-friendly accommodation for holidays and short breaks in the heart of the Lincolnshire Wolds.

Thorganby is set in a wooded valley in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). Lincolnshire is a beautiful county with a sense of antiquity and boasts an unrivalled selection of locally sourced foods.

Marris Barn and The Wagon Shed is a luxury, spacious holiday home. It has an exclusive leisure complex with its own private indoor swimming pool, sauna, games room and outdoor hot tub. Sleeping up to 16 guests in 7 en-suite bedrooms, this a superb choice for multi-generational family holidays or spending some valuable time away with friends. The Wagon Shed is a luxury single storey annexe, featuring a contemporary bedroom wing for 2. Graded NAS level M31, it is suitable for accessible and independent visitors alike. Plus it's a great place to escape if you want to escape the general hub bub during your stay.

Nearby Little Walk Cottage sleeps up to 4 guests. This charming cottage is down a track from our farmyard, away from the village road and has delightful views across the woods to the lake and beyond. It has a garden room where you can sit and take in the scenery even on cooler days. Along with the open-plan kitchen/dining/living area (which has a cosy wood-burning stove), there are 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and an outside terrace and garden. So there's plenty of space for everyone.

If you're looking for somewhere to host a larger get-together, both properties can be rented out together. They are a 5-minute car journey apart and collectively sleep up to 20 guests. When you book both together, you can all use the leisure complex and you'll be able to dine together at the extension table at Marris Barn too.

There's so much to do during your holiday at Thorganby Hall. If you like exploring on two wheels, Thorganby is very near the Sustrans Cycle route. (Don't worry, we have a lockable shed for you to store bikes). There are also a multitude of walking opportunities, so you can step out of the door of either property and set off across the Wolds. Or jump in your car for a trip along our stunning natural coastline. It's about a 50 minute drive and the route takes you through two beautiful market towns, Louth and Alford, A trip to Lincoln Cathedral and Castle is a must and the Bomber Command Centre near Lincoln is an impressive new venue for our county. The local pub serves good beer and is walking distance from both properties. Lincolnshire is renowned for its local produce which can be bought at Farmer's Markets and shops in the nearby charming market towns.

Emma Milligan-Manby

Emma and James have been running self catering holiday properties on their farm at Thorganby for more than 20 years. Their passion is renovating redundant farm buildings and creating wonderful, homely and versatile holiday houses. The family care about the environment and do what they can to help make a difference. Marris Barn is fully sustainable, using solar power and ground source energy throughout. Low energy light bulbs are used in all of the properties and recycling is encouraged throughout. Plus the gardens are all wildlife-friendly - so look closely and you'll see lots of butterflies and bees during the warmer months. There's also owl boxes at Marris Barn and Little Walk Cottage - see if you can spot them enjoying some night-time fun whilst you're here.
