About & Contact

'A wonderfully calm and peaceful place'

Described as 'a wonderfully calm and peaceful place', Douglas’s Barn has a more contemporary feel than Tom's Barn. This romantic self-catering holiday cottage offers a unique and welcome charm which comes from the odd shapes and quirky angles of the old building - all of which provide an intriguing backdrop for the modern 5* glass, stainless steel and leather 'luxury' that lies within the cottage. Downstairs there are original paintings by local artists, while a subtle trace of Africa is to be found upstairs in the spacious bedroom (where, incidentally, the extra-long bed is a boon for taller people)! There's also a power shower over a fabulous whirlpool bath.

Reviews for Douglas's Barn at Tom's Barn & Douglas's Barn

Meet the owner

Angela Roebuck

We have owned Tom’s Barn and Douglas’s Barn since January 2015. Angela was born in Derbyshire so is a local. Robert came from further south but has lived around the area for a number of years. We are both keen on walking and most Sunday’s we will be taking in the delights of the countryside around Derbyshire and Staffordshire. We have built up a lot of local knowledge and can advise on a range of things such as eating, local attractions, good walking and cycling routes. Our guests comfort is one of our main priorities and we always strive to ensure that you have everything you need to make your stay a memorable one. We live on the premises and are here to give you a warm welcome.
