About & Contact

Historic luxury stone barn and horse-engine house

Mill Barn has a real wow factor, having been lovingly converted from the farm's historic threshing barn and horse-engine house into a generously sized and luxurious holiday home-from-home.

Our flexible terms & conditions allow you to book with confidence, knowing that if you need to cancel for unforeseen circumstances up to 48 hours before your holiday, we’ll refund you in full.

Climb the old granite steps to Mill Barn's huge oak front door and you'll enter the vaulted living area with oak beams and old granite walls. The large farmhouse-style kitchen is exceptionally well-equipped with everything you need to whip up delicious meals using fresh local Cornish produce. Alternatively enjoy a night off with a wonderful handmade meal, prepared by our local caterers and ready for you to pop in the oven.

At the opposite end of this sociable open-plan space is the living room, with leather sofas and an armchair arranged around the woodburning stove, where you can kick back, relax and plan the next day's adventure. From these upstairs windows you can see for miles across rural Cornwall. Beyond is a separate snug with comfortable seating and an additional television, a dvd player and a desk, a perfect playroom for children and a popular retreat for teenagers.

Downstairs along the granite cobbled hallway you'll find three comfortable double bedrooms. Tucked away at one end of the barn is the master bedroom with a super-king-sized and super-comfortable upholstered bed from Loaf. Adjacent is a large shower room with rainfall shower, vanity unit and loo. Along the hallway are a pretty twin room with full-size adult beds and another twin room with zip and link beds that can be joined to make a super-king-sized double, making Mill Barn the perfect choice for both extended families and groups of friends. The large family bathroom with flagstone floor has a gorgeous roll-top bath, with shower over, for children's bathtimes and long candlelit soaks.

Outside, the old horse-engine house is now a delightful undercover seating area where you can enjoy the stunning views whatever the weather. A second lower terrace has benches around a firepit. Adjoining Mill Barn is a large shared grassed garden with seating areas and beyond this is the smallholding were there's space to roam, play and meet the friendly farm animals.

If you can tear yourselves away from this idyllic rural haven then you're just a stone's throw from the sandy beaches and pretty fishing villages of the North Cornwall coast. There's a plethora of places to visit and things to do, so whatever the weather throws at you you'll never be bored. This area is also famed for its amazing food and there are a number of award winning restaurants locally as well as traditional cosy Cornish pubs and cafes with roaring log fires, just perfect for memorable holidays year-round.

Reviews for Mill Barn at Tredarrup Farm Holiday Cottages

Meet the owner

Graham and Lorraine Lay

We’ve always been drawn to the rugged north coast of Cornwall so in 2017 we were thrilled to be able to finally take the plunge and move here. We fell in love with Tredarrup as soon as we drove up the long farm track, through the granite pillars, to be greeted by the most amazing rural views. Since then we’ve enjoyed upgrading the barns, turning each into the type of luxurious home from home we’d like to stay in ourselves. When we’re not greeting our guests, we can be found pottering about on the smallholding or walking the nearby South West Coast Path with our rescue dog, Lucky James MacDougal III (Lucky to his friends). We love sharing this special corner of Cornwall with our guests and are always on hand to give advice - equally we’re very happy to leave you alone to enjoy the peace and quiet!
