About & Contact

Gamekeepers, real rural luxury in North Yorkshire!

A luxurious stone-built cottage with double doors from both the kitchen and the lounge lead on to a south-facing patio and suntrap with a secure garden overlooking grazing sheep. Individually styled with a blend of antiques and modern furniture. Beautiful interiors with comfy chairs and a large sofa, with squishy cusions, a wood burner, beautiful hand-crafted kitchen/diner with granite surfaces and well stocked cupboards.

Gorgeous Gamekeepers Cottage, is a two storey, 3 bedroom stone built property, very tastefully decorated to a high standard using Eco Friendly paint throughout.

The bespoke fitted kitchen with granite worktops has well stocked cupboards from cake baking to Champagne sipping, every you need is there.Whilst the lounge and kitchen are seperate, they have been recently re-decorated to 'flow" into one another. With some new upcycled furniture the old blends with the new perfectly. A Smart TV is a great addition for those movie nights by the fire.

With stunning views of the rolling North Yorkshire countryside from a private, enclosed and very sunny garden. You can relax and watch the sun go down and the stars come out.

Both ground floor bedrooms have thier own ensuite shower rooms and TV. Whilst the upstairs comprises of a mezzanine with study area, a large luxurious master suite, a family bathroom, with a walk-in shower and seperate bath.

We provide a locally sourced Welcome Pack which includes milk, butter, cheese, bread, wine and Free Range eggs when our girls are laying.

Gamekeepers formed part of the estate owned by Lord Lucas. In 1881, Francis Holgate the Gamekeeper to Lord Lucas lived in the original house. Hence the name Gamekeepers.

Relax and unwind at our Gorgeous Gamekeeperrs!

Reviews for Wigglesworth House and Cottages

Meet the owner

Louise Mc Aneny

We purchased and took over the running of Wigglesworth House & Cottages in 2015. Having lived overseas for 20 years, raising our teenage children, the time was right to relocate back to the UK. One step into Wigglesworth House and a tour around the gorgeous cottages and we knew we had found our forever home. We continue to redecorate and upgrade Gamekeepers Cottage, whilst Louise's father is currently living in Cross cottage. We have three wonderful geese, our "guard dogs". Our hens provide delicious eggs and our younger guests love egg collecting! Nettie & Nando, our Nigerian Dwarf goats love munching vegetables and showing off to our guests. Hattie our flat-coated retriever and Piper our Golden retriever love having guests fuss over them too. Stephen continues his Global role but is fondly known as "the groundsman" when he is around. Our "children" have all fled the nest ,but love coming home to the peace and quiet of the Dales, bringing friends with them. Louise runs the cottages and is a very happy Yorkshire lass who is blessed to have returned 'home'. We strive to make your Yorkshire holiday a memorable one!
