Only one property on site. Wild Winds holiday home is graded 5* by VisitWales and situated in the Pembrokeshire National Park. It enjoys panoramic views of the sea across St Brides Bay looking across to Newgale and the St Davids’ peninsula. A short walk across the National Trust’s Sheepfields takes you to the beach – traffic free.
Wild Winds standard letting is for 5 people in 3 bedrooms. All the rooms are one level. An additional king-size bedroom is available if you choose the sleeps 7 option .
The family bathroom has a separate shower and bathtub. Along the corridor from the family bathroom are the 3 bedrooms included in standard letting. The king-size bedroom sleeps 2 and has a TV. The double bedroom sleeps 2. The single bedroom has a ¾ double bed and sleeps 1. A travel cot is available too.
On the seaside of the property and off the corridor from the main entrance is a shower room. The shower room is included in the standard rental.
Adjacent to the shower room is the fourth bedroom. This king-size with TV is not included in the standard let. The additional king-size can be included as an extra charge at the time of booking. This second king-size is a popular extra with pairs of couples travelling together and with intergenerational family groups. Great to be together but also good to have the space and privacy that the bedroom on different side of the bungalow affords.
The open plan kitchen/dining area and family lounge has great sea views. The Smart TV comes with a DVD player and Wii too. The Grown ups lounge has large windows maximising your views of the bay - you might wish to borrow the binoculars! It also has a smart TV. Or you could sit in the small conservatory with its views of cottage style garden.
Wild Winds is set in a large garden. The garden isn’t level and there are some steep drops and slopes. The boundaries are formed partly by natural features and part fencing so children, animals and the infirm must be supervised at all times. You have plenty of choice when it comes to seating and dining outdoors. The decked seating area at the back of Wild Winds has views of the sea and garden. There is a fixed barbecue near the decking. Or pop out the front door and sit on the seaside table and chairs and soak up the view. Head up the wide gravelled steps to the top garden to enjoy the best sea and valley views. There you’ll find a table, chairs and firepit. At night-time, the top garden is lit up by solar lights.
Lots of dining options within walking distance - Lobster & Mor, St Brides Inn, The Castle, Off the Hook, Sand and Stone Kitchen, Ocean Bar, Sunshine Italian and The Galleon. If you prefer to cook at home, then Wild Winds is well equipped. Nespresso maker, kettle, toaster, food processor, kitchen aid mixer, toaster, slow cook, sandwich toaster, warming drawer, larder fridge, freezer and dishwasher.
Pembrokeshire has lots of superb beaches - Little Haven, Settlands and blue flag Broad Haven are closest. Dale, Sandy Haven, Marloes (my favourite) and Druidstone are not too far. Newgale is very popular with surfers. Whitesands and The Blue Lagoon are popular.
You can open up the Black Hutch to borrow body boards, nets, buckets and spades and the portable kettle barbecue to take to the beach.
Wild Winds is popular with birdwatchers and walkers. The Pembrokeshire Coastal Path runs in front of Wild Winds. The Preseli Mountains are easily accessible. The boat which lands on Skomer Island (famous for its resident puffins) departs close by. There are also boat trips around the islands in the bay for some dolphin and seal spotting.
If outdoors adventures are for you then book onto one of the many activities on offer. Foraging, kayaking, coasteering, diving, sailing, surfing, windsurfing.
Sometimes it rains. You could stay indoors at Wild Winds and play the Wii or DVD. There are board games DVDs jigsaws for young and old. Or you could explore one of Pembrokeshire’s many castles. Henry VII, the first Tudor, was born in Pembroke Castle nearby. My favourite woollen mill is Melin Tregwynt, it's worth a visit. There are numerous galleries throughout the gallery. Younger guests might enjoy the Bug Farm and Folly Farm.
