There’s so much natural beauty to be found in Yorkshire, it’ll be tough to know where to begin. Perhaps the most famous part of Yorkshire, outside of the cultural and ancient city of York, is the Yorkshire Dales—in the heart of the Pennines. A chain of hills and mountains that run down the spine of Northern England. The landscapes of the Yorkshire Dales are renowned for their unspoilt quality and wildlife diversity. The dog walking here is brilliant, and ranges from gentle valley strolls to more rugged mountainous hikes.
Another wild part of Yorkshire, not so famous, but packed with awe inspiring scenery – is the North York Moors. This is a wilderness area, with vast swathes of open ground, flushed with heather, and many prehistoric settlement sites. Where the Dales encompass a sleepy pastoral feeling, the North York Moors are more exposed, and give way to sharp cliffs overlooking the cold depths of the North Sea. Along this stretch of coast are hidden coves to be discovered, time-still fishing villages, and secluded beaches. There are plenty of places to walk your dog here, and cultural nooks to investigate.
