LUXURY HOLIDAY COTTAGES IN LINCOLNSHIRE
Lincolnshire is England’s second largest county, offering a sublime combination of the best of coast and countryside. Whether you’re after historic buildings and monuments, superb scenery, a family beach holiday or even a metropolitan shopping spree, Lincolnshire has it all in abundance. You’ll find the county in the East of England, close to the watery arteries of the Norfolk Broads.
The Lincoln Imp
A visit to the county wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the city of Lincoln. Lincoln’s skyline is immediately recognisable, and is dominated by the twin towers of its cathedral. The cathedral itself is a huge tourist attraction, being widely regarded as one of the finest in Europe and you’ll be given the chance to try and spot the famous Lincoln Imp amongst the many gargoyles that decorate the building.
Enjoying the Scenery
If you want to unwind against one of the UK’s most awe-inspiring backdrops, then make sure to take a trip to the Fens, a patchwork of fields, forests and valley, neatly stitched together by lazy rivers and waterways. Any fishermen in the group won’t be able to pass up the opportunity to try and land a fish or two and there are plenty of walking and cycling trails for those who want to get to grips with the local landscape.
Natural Lincolnshire
Given the sheer diversity of the Lincolnshire countryside, it’s no surprise that there are over 100 nature reserves in the county. The Donna Nook Nature Reserve will allow you the rare chance to observe England’s largest colony of grey seals and, during the winter months, watching the seals give birth to their pups has become something of a local tradition.
